According to Graham Hunter (Spanish correspondent for TalkSport), Barca have told Eto'o to go fish for new employers and he is currently in talks with Arsenal as he has a great deal of respect for Wenger. To buy out his contract will cost in excess of 100M euros.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

      €100m+

      So who is next?
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

i dont think we've got a chance with Huntelaar, despite the fact that he and tevez are my two favourite options for a new striker this summer. barca have had a long admiration, and even with Afonso Alves coming, if Eto'o is sold, i still think that Huntelaar will go to Barca.

that young kid Bojan Krkic is on loan next year from Barca, and rather than go anywhere in Spain, they loaned him to Ajax. i think that could be part of the deal to take Huntelaar to Barca. personally, with us signing Lucas, i wouldn't mind if we got Krkic, dos Santos and Assulin in exchange for Xabi, as they are all world class potential, that we would otherwise never get

I can't believe afonso alves would fetch a fee close to 25 m. I live in malmo and have seen him play several times. Even though I think he is a good player I can't see anyone paying more than 10 m.
When Zlatan played for malmo he stood out far more than afonso alves plus the fact that zlatan was very young at the time so I think there is something wrong with that figure, although his stats in holland are very impressive.
As for deadballs I think he's a fair bit of juninho standards.

I think the 25mill fee is just the selling club talking tough and not wanting to let the outside world think their gonna let, say Alves, go without a fight or at the right price. Lets not forget a few years ago when Parry said that we wouldn't sell Stevie for 30,40 or 50mill quid. There defo was a hidden message in that quote to Chelski.

It'd be interesting to see how much Alves does move for in the end.

I've never really rated Zlatan,I've always thought his career was made on the basis of that youtube clip of that goal he scored for Ajax.

Our best possible striker signings, in this order, are :

                        Eto'o
                        Huntelaar
                        Bent

For value for money and impact (in terms of what they would bring to the team) I think the list would be:

                          Owen £9m
                          Tevez £12m
                          Eto'o £xm?
                          Klose £10m?
                          Huntelaar £15m

Any 2 of those and I'd be happy

Zlatan for sure has had his ups and downs, but he was great his first season at Juventus and this season as well.
I watched him destroy defenders here in sweden before he moved to Ajax and it was really easy to see that the guy was extremely talented.
He is great as a target player and can hold the ball better than anyone IMO, this season he also managed to score 15 in 25 games for inter and he probably has his fair share of assists as well.

I´m sure we can get a very good price for Crouch and go for Zlatan.
I know he is a bit on the edge but he has a great warriors mentality. ( plus being one of the most gifted players on the planet ) And IMO that is just what our attack needs.
