    Kewell, Garcia. Pennant and Speedy

    The question is simple.

If Kewell got a bit of form back and stayed injury free, if Speedy turns up this season and produces some of the play he did in Spain last season and if Pennant keeps up the good work (actually, with all these "ifs", the question is not so "simple", is it?), would be be better off spending the bulk of our transfer kitty on 2 top class strikers, rather than 1 top class striker and one top class wide man?

IE: If we got a bit of form out of our current crop of 'wide' players, would be be better off bringing in an Owen and Torres rather than an Alves and Torres?

Keep Garcia. The rest are open to offers for me.

We dont know if they are going to up their game so we couldnt risk buying 2 class strikers could we? We'd have to wait a season to see if they did up their game and then buy 2 class strikers. Im not after instant success after the summer but I also dont want to waste a year waiting to see if players step up. I wouldnt look to actively sell them but if offers come in and we could get better, Id listen and be tempted. (keeping Garcia thought)

IMO even with all these iff´s buying Tevez, Eto´o and Zlatan would do the trick.

Sell Bellamy, Crouch and Kuyt and we could still get some more players in.

I'm one of the Peter Crouch fan club. I think he's a vital cog in the system. I think what he offers the team is massively important. I'd have him starting up top with an Eto or Owen if I had it my way with Aaron Lennon supplying the ammunition.

For me Kewell and Pennant are our best choices at the mo, we need competition for Pennant on the right so another RW, LW maybe not as important i'm going to assume Kewell will be fit, and with Leto coming in Gonzo will have to step up, and is we can keep aurelio injury free either he or Riise can play there.

So for me we just need a right winger, maybe a versatile one who can play on the left as well, I don't see Garcia playing on the wing maybe a bit more in the hole next season

2 strikers, 2 wingers a left back and a centre defender

                  I'd keep Garcia and Pennant.

Kewell I hope he goes ASAP, Gonzalez I'd like to loan out to a lesser EPL team so he can get some game time and maybe improve if not chuck him out.

Out of the wingers around if we are brining any in, I'd love to see Puerta and/or Simao come. I reckon Puerta would be a perfect fit for the left wing becuase of his trickery and multiple skills. And he'll add some good flair. With Simao I want him for his goal scoring ability mainly but his set pieces, dribbling and crossing won't hurt either.

I don't know if we can sign both though, don't forget about Leto coming in too.

At the minute I don't think that any of our attacking midfielders offer enough of a goal threat. Maybe Kewell or Gonzalez could do if they got baclk to the best football people have seen from them, but to expect them to get back to that level is a huge risk.

I think that the stats about how many goals our strikers have scored have shown that really they haven't been as bad as people make out. We need to carve out chances in tight games and I think the best balance for that is to have more creativity and threat from midfield.

We definitely need a stiker who stikes fear into the opposition but I think that a single signing in that area would be fine as the players we have such as Kuyt, Crouch and Garcia can give us an awful lot from the second forward position.

If Pennant performed to his best level and Harry stayed fit, i'd be more than happy with these two players to be our wide men.
You got pace, skill, crossing ability, creativity between the two of them,
                      the whole works.

I have to say that Alves looks the business for the right side - every game I have seen him in so far was impressed - think he'd be a good signing - Eto would be a ready made predator that we should be signing to get goals

If theres any substance to us being in for Tevez and he should come, then its Garcia out IMO.

I'd concur on that, if those 2 could perform at a consistent level, we'd be fine.Add in Garcia's flair, versitlity and ability to score in important matches and we could be ok. As for gonzo, I dunno about him.
