Then your original statement was false. Ronaldo can't score in big games.Originally posted by Farside View PostI know, Garcia can't beat his man.

In my opinion we are one striker and TWO WORLD CLASS WINGERS away from competing for the title. I would be more than comfortable with Eto'o/Villa/Tevez, Kuyt, Crouch and Voronin with SG playing in the middle. There are loads of goals to be had if we could get great service in to the strikers and had men on the wings attacking defenses and putting them on their heels. With Alonso and SG dictating the movement of the ball to BOTH wings, and having two world class wingers, we'd be a force. Pennant/Gonzalez/Kewell are not world class. They just aren't. They are decent squad players/cover but not on anyone's first choice on the wings.
You need only look at Giggs/Ronaldo to see how these players can carry a team... If you have Kuyt/Crouch and Eto'o/Tevez/Villa THAT level of service and support in the attack, we'd be dominant. So, if I had control of the transfer kitty, I'd have one striker and two wingers at the top of my shopping list, and a left back after that and a CB to cover as Hyypia is looking past it. My two cents."Our legacy begets an excellence that surpasses the particulars of who produces it." -- David Carr

Kewell's announced he's fully fit and ready for selection. I simply cannot believe this **** is going to gatecrash the Athens trip.Originally posted by Zapater View PostI'd keep Garcia and Pennant.
Kewell I hope he goes ASAP, Gonzalez I'd like to loan out to a lesser EPL team so he can get some game time and maybe improve if not chuck him out.
Out of the wingers around if we are brining any in, I'd love to see Puerta and/or Simao come. I reckon Puerta would be a perfect fit for the left wing becuase of his trickery and multiple skills. And he'll add some good flair. With Simao I want him for his goal scoring ability mainly but his set pieces, dribbling and crossing won't hurt either.
I don't know if we can sign both though, don't forget about Leto coming in too.I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.
