Daniel Alves: I'll only leave Sevilla for big offer
    tribalfooball.com - May 14, 2007

Daniel Alves maintains he is happy at Sevilla.

A big-money target for Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool, the Brazilian wing-back said: "There's plenty of rumours, but I do not know anything more.

"What I know clearly is that if the day comes that I leave Sevilla, it will be through the front door and for a lot of money."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Fantastic player, best right back in the world with Miguel. I don't want him here though. Note that when I say right back I feel he is best when he plays there. And seeing that presumably we'll be looking at him as a primarily winger I'm not overly keen.

I'm still going to continue hoping we sign Simao for the right wing and Puerta for the left. I've stated my reasons in other threads and I believe these players would make the difference for us on the flanks.

He's endearing himself to the Sevilla fans and heirachy but it doesn't sound too good for us IMO.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I think that it sounds good.

He said that he will leave if he gets the right offer, the same thing he has said all the time.

When Rafa tried to sign him before, it was in order to play him at right-back.
          Not as a winger.

Alves doesn't really play as a right back for Sevilla.

He plays in a free position and is free to move all over the pitch. Like Gerrard for us. The difference is that Gerrard starts from right midfield and Alves from the right back position.

And he's still there and IMO going no-where unless someone comes in and pays silly money. That counts us out IMO but not the other 3 teams being mentioned.

On the other hand, all is quiet in the Simao camp

He will cost £18m and it won't rule us out

£18m should rule us out. That's a ridiculous amount.

I agree to an extent but generally I'd say he is in more-a-less an advanced right back position. He gets inside a fair bit and up the field a lot, occasionally Poulsen has to drop back from DM to cover for him but overall I'd say that is where he plays. he also gets a lot of defending done which makes him so impressive.

Something which should be taken note of though is his relationship with Jesus Navas is fantastic. The way they combine is brilliant. Without Navas he is still a good player but not usually at his best. Navas without Alves is much worse too. The thing is that Navas is going nowhere (I doubt we have interest in signing him either) because of his strange mental condition.

                    But yes, Simao very keen.

I'm not so sure - Rafa was prepared to pay £15m for him before Gillet and Hicks arrived....

I can't ever remember us offering 15 mil? I thought that we went to 12 and that was it!

I don't want him. He's a moan and a cock. A cheating, diving ******* and the type of player LFC fans hate to see so it would be a tad hypocritical if we were happy about signing him. That line from him: "it will be through the front door and for a lot of money." sums him up to a T.

Had we had the resources we would have paid the asking price of around £14m. If it's £18m now we'd be in for him. It's all about juggling your resources. Last time Rafa couldn't blow a wad of cash on one player as he needed cover for other positions, now he can.

Stands to reason that if Rafa wanted him before he'd want him now.
                            Forwards.......
