I'd prefer to sign a top quality right winger than get Alves. Alves would be a luxury. Finnan can do the job one more year and Arbeloa will get even better

If Rafa had thought that Miguel is better then he would have tried to sign him the last three seasons and not Alves, so Rafa agrees with me that Alves is the better player

Miguel is good in two positions, right back and right wing back. Alves is at least as good in that positions and can play in every position except goalkeeper and central defender. That is a big plus point.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Have you seen a more accurate crosser? Imagine him behindm Simao/Pennant on the right. That's 20 goals right there!!!!!!

90% of all the players in La Liga dives a lot. Eto'o is one of the few players that tries to stand on his feets even if someone almost touches him.

Garcia dived a lot in La Liga and now he only dives one or two times a game. Rafa will tell him to stand on his feets. You play the way the ref allows you play.

Just because we have new owners we don't have a bottomless pit of money!

I just think other parts of the pitch are a priority to be strengthened.

Bottom line is that Alves is a very good footballer. He has all the basic skills a footballer needs, in abundance.

Those are usually the players Rafa goes for. ( Pennant, Simao, Alonso, Masher, Aurelio, Agger to name a few. )

He wants players that can play. And as a right back that can really play football, Alves is one of the best.

Alves is a top class player with the same energy as Stevie G. You can't find many top class players working their socks off every minute in every game. He probably works harder than Momo.

He is Rafa type of player.....Gives 100% and a little bit more for the team.

I don't agree with that at all. When I watch liga which I do a lot. I do however notice that Alves is one of the worst in this respect. He dives, and friegns injury not to mention he also is always moaning to refs and complaining to officials when he is disadvataged. When he doesn't dive, he is still always trying to win free kicks. He niggles a lot and is quite dirty at times himself and when other players go down he'll go nuts.

I thought you wanted to sign him for RB!

I've not seen enough of him to know if he will be good from right mid. It's one thing looking good bombing forward from RB than it is starting off at RM....

If you've seen him, you'll now he spends most of his time in the final 3rd.

That is a good description of Alves but as I said, Rafa will tell him to stop diving.

I also watch a lot of La Liga and even the so called hard workers dives a lot and feign injuries. Take Reals Diarra for example, he dives a lot and he didn't do that in France.

Alves is a 100% winner, like Rooney, that is why he'll go nuts sometimes. We need more that type of players in the team to fire the team up. In some games we go to sleep from the start and Alves would give us the missing energy in that games.
