are the young players we are signing close to that of the calibre of young players at Barca.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I'd disregard most of the youth signings for the past 3 years, Rafa now has two things he didn't have before cash, and some pull with the accademy, we'll see a change over the next 2 seasons i think

          hopefully we will do
I wonder what kin of success rate Rafa is after with the youth players, we seem to be spending alot of money in that department, with little or no return so far.
I wonder how much has gone into the academy since Rafa arrived.

i remember reading something by rafa when he said that when he worked at the real madrid youth accademy he had 40 players and they nearly all went on to play for big clubs

wow that is some success rate that, maybe Spannish football is just different to English football in that respect. Technique will go further in Spain than it will in England. No doubting the Real coaches should be quite good in that respect.
