This guy breaks the all time liverpool clean sheet record, he has never ever ever been beaten in a peno shoot out in his "ENTIRE" career. He saved 7 fecking out of 9 penalties to help Villa Real into the UFEA Champions Lg, again in 2nd year he is the best keeper in the country, falling one short of the all time clean sheet record which he set in his first full season.

What more can you say about this guy, sure he is a young guy but thats a statement of fact, as is he is a world class keeper who unless something dramatic happens will turn out to be one of the best keepers the world of football has ever seen.

I love Pepe, since after about 5 games for us he has had a command of his box, Dudek never had that. Sure he gets it wrong sometimes with crosses but 9 times out of ten that he comes for them he gets it right.
Its good to see most peoples opinions have changed slightly since the derby game at woodison.

One further question re Pepe, do you consider him to currently be as good as Schmeical, Jennings, Clem et al (Banks ,that great Russian geezer, Kalashnikov or whatever he was called)at their peak ??

For me he isn't there yet, BUT this is not a criticism. he is young and still learning/improving

Sure he has a lot of room for growth but as he stands he is immense. Just because is not long in the tooth does not necessarily say he is up to there standards. I see your point though

talking about the defense in front of him, last year when he set the record, playing with a defence that he had never played with before, witch was the same defense which played in front of dudek the year before, and you could see the massive difference. he's on par with carra as the most important player in our defense...
