I would have been there if it hadn't been for a f*cking test

      Nice pictures
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Great post Loco - not good news on the ticket front though.
You have my number for meeting up anyway.

Got emailed this from athens red who is sorting this out for all reds who are going over.

STANLEY PARK - BRINGING LIVERPOOL TO ATHENS!!

We are excited to announce the organization of the biggest party in Athens... exclusively for Liverpool supporters!

We're taking over the biggest outdoor bar (TECHNOPOLIS) in the city centre and using it as a base for 2 days of Champions League Final fun.

With an outdoor area hosting some of Merseyside's TOP DJs, we'll be hearing all the classics you'd expect from Europe's top football & music city. We've also got a HUGE SCREEN, so we can watch highlights of Liverpool's top European moments, as well as the big match on Wednesday evening. With visits from some of our EUROPEAN HEROES of the past, it all adds up to another memorable Champions League experience. All this at our special venue: TECHNOPOLIS

So, this party is for ALL Liverpool fans: for those WITH TICKETS, who are looking for an awesome pre-match experience: and, for those WITHOUT TICKETS, where better to watch the Final than on a BIG SCREEN in the centre of Athens, with thousands of other Liverpool fans?

Our aim is to provide entertainment in a safe & secure environment, to provide the perfect MEETING PLACE for all Liverpool supporters. With space for up to 10,000, our friendly Greek security staff have assured us that only Liverpool fans will be allowed entry.

We could not be in a more central place in the city centre. A link to our exact location is attached:

Ask any local or any taxi driver where the venue TECHNOPOLIS is. That's where we're based. Its in the GAZI AREA of Athens, the nightlife centre of Greece's capital.

We'll see you - and thousands of other Liverpool fans - there!

                  Venue: TECHNOPOLIS
Opening hrs: FROM TUESDAY MIDDAY UNTIL MIDNIGHT

                  FROM WEDNESDAY MIDDAY UNTIL MIDNIGHT

So where are people gonna meet to watch the game then if you, like me, aren't likely to pay 1500 Euros plus for a ticket?
Is this Tecnopolis the best place - will there be plenty of beer stalls etc? Or will Syntagma Square be the best bet? Presumably there will be bars and stuff aplenty.

Also, I am asking this now as not sure how far the stadium is away from all the bars etc. I mean, is it practical to get your arse down there looking for tickets in the run up to kick off, and if you don't succeed, then get back to the Square or wherever for the game. How long are people gonna give it for ticket hunting before deciding on a venue for the game?

Thanks for the info and piccies Loco - hopefully see you out there.

There is nothing in the way of bars or entertainment around the OAKA, unless they've put something temporary just for this occasion. The stadium is in a suburb of northern Athens that's a good 10km away from the city centre. Takes about 25 odd mins to get from Omonia or Syntagma to the stadium.

I'm sure there will be people loitering outside the stadium up to a few mins before kick off in the hope of securing a ticket.

The thing is, these prices being quoted are quite ridiculous - surely no one will be buying tickets for 1500 Euros? In which case touts will have to sell them for a lot less and hopefully something resembling a reasonable price. Depends how stubborn they're willing to be, but if they're left with tickets a few mins before kick off, you'll be in luck.
