Which striker would be your #1 target in the summer?

I said this when we lost the 1st leg to Chelski. We missed him yesterday. Gerrard is not a supporting striker even though he was the best option we had last night.Originally posted by Gaz View PostDefinately Eto'o
Inzaghi's movement across the back line for their second goal was perfect and not one of the strikers we have for next season has movement like that.
Garcia's movement is probably the closest to it IMO
Gutted Luis wasn't available for this match. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. Stop on Niall. Half a season ago Tevez for instance was hardly ever mentioned, now he's in everyone's dream formation. Absolute tosh. I'm glad Rafa is in charge, he's no fool and with the money he will have to spend I expect him to be signing the right (top) players who will turn our often stale play in the final third of the pitch into that Valencia Symphony Orchestra (tm) we saw years ago.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostI fully expect to read a thread full of opinions based on non-factual evidence procured from playing Football Manager hours on end.
I'm starting to feel like one of those superfan tossers they have on Rawk, who jump down the throat of any fan who dare discusses any Liverpool related rumours.
I'm just going to let the manager get on with it. He knows what he is doing, and he's a winner.
When's the transfer window open? 1st of June?

I can see us moving quickly now to get a top striker in ready for next season.
I'd love it to be Samuel Eto'o, but would be more than happy with Fernando Torres.
Either would be the missing link for us up front as they'll bring movement, goals and that sharpness in the box that we've been lacking these past few seasons.
Go get 'em Rafa!

Actually I think Niall mentioned Tevez back on the CrapTalk forums a couple of years ago.Originally posted by sean_lfc View PostStop on Niall. Juninho Pernambucano is class, he would add so much to our set pieces. However i don't think Lyon would sell him, he's fairly old 32 i think and he's not really a striker anyway.Originally posted by stinhambo View PostI hope we can sign that midfielder from Lyon. Is it Junihno? We come not to play.

I was thinking of a creative midfield player. I didn't realise he was getting on a bit.Originally posted by Frodo View PostJuninho Pernambucano is class, he would add so much to our set pieces. Without question I'd choose Eto, he is a pure lethal striker, just what we need. If the yanks and Rafa are talking about paying big money for the best then he is your man. I'd love Tevez too but we need goals and Eto would bring that.“Me having no education. I had to use my brains.”

the huntelaar deal isnt done yet and hes a much cheaper "fox in the box" than either torres and villa, plus dutchmen usually do ok in our league, id go for him and one of eto'o or tevez, allied to crouchy and garcia supporting id say that was a pretty potent forward line. I really want us to gamble on billy sharp for some reason too, i think he may well be a superstar in the making

I agree AF, whilst Henry has been one of the greatest Strikers to play in the Premership, i'm affraid he's slowly sliding down that slipery slope to "Was Great". Now if we were to get hold of Trevez! it would be like signing Henry in his prime and that, can only benifit us as being a force once again(with other quality signings also of course)Originally posted by AFII View PostHe is also excellent but he is on his way down. Tevez will only get better.
I'd also be over the moon if we could manage to sign an other quality Striker such as, Huntlear or Torres etc, but, i can also see someone such as Owen or Bent arriving too. Whatever strikeforce we end up with!; i'm sure Rafa will have done his homework.
Here's to a exciting future and bringing home no 19

That would do very nicely along with Alves, A left back and another left winger
