wonderful thing hindsight isn't it, fact is we battered them in the first half and rafas tactics worked fine until alonso gave away a stupid free kick, the only thing i would have changed was zenden out and kewell to start but even that was a tough choice to make given kewell not starting a game since last year. I would probably have gone 4-4-2, but at the end of the day it wasn't the decision to go 4-4-1-1 that hindered us, it was the inability of our forward players to find the net

FFS Zenden is not there to beat a man. Zenden is in the team because of his defensive capabilites. Riise is an attacking full back. When Riise comes forward Zenden fills in at left defensive midfield better than any other play on the team can.

It's that ****ing simple.

calm down fella, the lads making a point and he's entitled to do so without you trying to belittle him, he's playing left wing and cant beat a man or put in a decent cross if he's there for the reason you state then might as well stick him at left full back for all the good he did

4-4-1-1 was completely the wrong formation to use! Crouch should have started from the beginning in a 4-4-2 formation and either Pennant, Xabi or Mascherano should have started on the bench. Stevie is NOT a Kaka type player, although he can play there. I'm actually getting tired of us having to watch Stevie play out of position all the time because he has the ability to do so. Sorry but Rafa is to blame for this defeat and don't get me wrong he's an amazing manager & tactician, but tonight he definitely got it wrong. Oh and the ref was pathetic, I can't understand how he could have been chosen to ref such a big game!
