They hardly created anything until the last 20 mins when we were chasing the game. We had 4 or 5 decent half chances which we didn't take, thats why we lost. i thought we played brilliantly tongiht & I was proud to be a Red.

The fluke first goal was the killer. We were nervy early on, but as the first half wore on we had all the play, the only couple of half-chances, and looked to be getting stronger. In the second half the legs just started to go a bit, and it all fell apart for one crucial move when they scored the second. Our left side was too weak in attacking terms, and on the right Pennant is also not enough of a goal threat (however reasonably he played) for that particular formation imo, but we were close tonight, and we have good reason to feel like we can only move forward from here.

Maybe Riise at LW and Arbeloa at LB would have been a better option, but Risse cant provide adequate crosses either,

LW IMO is the number one spot that we need to fill. With RW and a striker not far behind
LW aint the number one spot to fill, a top striker is and that's there for all to see, HK has been in a sub in all of three games this season ffs and he's miles better than gonzo or zenden not even a discussion to be had there at all. Arbeloa wouldn't have been a good choice at left back because the few times that riise got beat it was on his outside and that would have been worse had arbeloa played

Rafa got it right. It was a lack of overall quality that cost us. With better players, who'll come in the summer, the game would have been over by half-time; we there that much on top.

Rafa's tactics were spot on - as per in Europe.

I thought he was wrong not to throw Crouch on sooner and I would have thrown Bellamy on for Pennant with ten minutes to go.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Stevie is NOT a Kaka type player, although he can play there. I'm actually getting tired of us having to watch Stevie play out of position all the time because he has the ability to do so. Sorry but Rafa is to blame for this defeat and don't get me wrong he's an amazing manager & tactician, but tonight he definitely got it wrong. Oh and the ref was pathetic, I can't understand how he could have been chosen to ref such a big game!
                            Thoughts...
My thoughts are that is ABSOLUTE RUBBISH.
We outdid them tactically, they did nothing in the whole of the first half bar score a fortunate free kick.

                            Tactics were spot on.
We simply should have scored when we were on top.
Then complexion of game changes completely.

We lost tonight, because they took lead first.
If we had, we would have won.

                            Simple.

Congratulations to Milan, I'm still proud of my team, and would not have done one iota differently

                            YNWA

                            I'm a proud red tonight.

That's what I feel too, you've simply got to score against a club like AC Milan when you're on top like we were in the first half - I said to someone just before they scored that we've blown it and sadly it prooved to be the case.
Yeah I did too actually. I said "we had to have put one of them away though".

                              Then they went and scored.

I felt we were easily the best side in the first half, but didn't do nearly enough in the second to get the goal back.

I'd have had Crouch on much earlier. I still think he's our best forward by a long distance.

                                Not a Knee Jerk But..

I think Rafa may have got it wrong tonight,
                                Crouch came on too late.
                                Not enough attack.

What needs to change for next season

                                For Me.

Bellamy, Pennant, Zenden, Gonzales, Fowler, Kewell, Sammi, Arbeloa (to go on loan) will all have left the club in some way next season for the reason they are not good enough for were we need to go.

Right Wing! Left Wing! (There for the taking) Strikers! (Eto'o,Tevez)

                                Decide were Stevie plays,
and I they may be the key decisions for Rafa to think about next season.
