Xabi Alonso - Inc. Latest Rafa Quotes

What a legend.Gets slated and seems to be the fault for any game we lose.
He set very high standards in his first year and may not have played at that level throughout the season but has had some very good games also.
Fans can be very fickle. You dont know what you got til its gone and that will definetely be the case if he leaves.I for one hope he stays
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
    everyone wants to know

it was a stupid tackle but everyone makes mistakes, i;m sure he won't be enjoying things at the moment, and i'm also sure he'll come back better next season

I thought it was a 50/50 tackle and the ball hit inzaghi`s arm on the way in,am i alone on this.

I thought he was fantastic in the first half today. that is the quality we should be aiming to bring in. Although, there aren't many around as good as him.

The way he was taking the ball down and switching the play whilst in the middle of 2 or more Milan players was fantastic to see. He always makes time on the ball and his technique is sublime.

Unbelievable player. Best passer in the world aswell.

i love xabi as much as the next guy but regardless of his form answer me this? would we miss him if he was injured for a season? no...because stevie should always play in the middle and that only leaves 1 place in the centre of the park..and id pick mascher every time.
Obviously we have to sign the lad first but if we do than sorry xabi but all of a sudden you are expendable. Allied to the fact that he wants to play in spain id get rid of him as bait for a superstar...
(we even have ready made back up in case of injuries in momo and the brazilian lad so its even more realistic a thought)

              I hope he stays too.
It would be madness to sell Xabi

People are looking for scapegoats ffs! Zenden, Xabi... so he made a stupid foul... Kaka made the most of it though and 6 times out of 10 Andrea fluffs those.
Gerrard had a one on one chance he screwed it up... even our captain makes mistakes

Our team played well. Definitely well enough to win. How do you expect our forwards to score if everytime they touch the ball the ref blows for a foul?

Who I really missed today was Luis Garcia. But who is to say we would not have lost if he had been out there today?

Back to Xabi... he needs a good break, an off season to get his head together. A fresh start next year and healthy competition from Mascherano. And we'll see our Xabi of old again

No. It was a hand ball. he actually moves his whole arm down, and it deflects right off his elbow. Handball in my book.

                  que sera and all that.

Xabi had a decent game i thought, people are being very harsh on him. All our attacks broke down when Zenden touched the ball.

Sorry mate - I competely disagree. He was a liability in the 1st half with his tackling. How he didn't get booked is beyond me. It was a poor clearance from Carra and a poor tackle from Xabi for the freekick.

He had a stinker and Rafa got it wrong taking Masher off instead of Alonso. It was akin to Houllier taking Didi off in the fated Leverkeusen game.

We are loving monster at the moment and rightly so,but I can see fans getting on his back too.His passing isnt near as good as Xabi's and if Alonso goes we will say what a mistake. To challenge on all fronts we need them all though.

                          HA!!!

you couldn't be more wrong if you tried.

Xabi started countless number of attacks in the 1st half. Masher offers little attacking threat.

The 1st goal was Carra's fault, he should have done his usual safety 1st approach instead of trying to play the ball to Finnan which was intercepted by Kaka who was then touched by Xabi and surprise surprise he went down!

But on the whole Xabi has not been up to his usual standard throughout the season.
                              We come not to play.
