But on the whole Xabi has not been up to his usual standard throughout the season.

that's true but in the first half tonight he gave us a reminder of just how good he can be, and I think we'll see a fantasic season from him nest year as I'm guessing the midfield will be far mor settled next year. Also, if we sigh a top class winger, he'll have someone to hit with his penetrating balls.

Alonso & Mascherano were immense for us today. One foul should not make Xabi a scaepgout for our loss.

We have to be a little careful here.

Mascherano is on loan when all said and done for next season, after that there is no guarantee he will stay especially if things get opened up to the highest bidder. Regardless of what cash we are likely to have, I can't see Rafa spending more than necessary.

Alonso is a Liverpool player and a fine one at that. He hasn't been at his best this season but he still warrants a place in the side. Given the right players around him, his passing abilities could be vital next season.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Xabi shouldnt be sold. He is a talent and very young. We are spoilt with centre midfielders pitty not the same quality up front were we have been let down

Spot on, we put in a good performance but didn't have luck on our side today, like Stevie said we'll be back in another European cup final soon and i for one belive that.

If we spend wisely in the summer we'll have a good crack at the premiership next season.

Don't forget "It's only on loan"
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

thats the point, we are a team on the up. we're only getting better. we'll be there soon agian with a stronger side...

another point is that we've won 5 ot of 7, ac has one 7 out of 10. Top teams loose we should get to know that, thats how it is. if we are going to compete against top trophies we'll win some and we'll loose some, but we did well today, but we need strikers...

**** happens. Fantastic effort by the players to get to a 2nd finals in 3-years. Really its no shame losing to Milan, they are a terrific team and 3 finals in 5 years says it all really. Lets concentrate on the upcoming silly season gossip and making a real go for no 19 next season.

Unless we can get someone better in for the team, like Eto'o.

That was always Sir bob and Kenny's philosophy. If there is someone better then go and get them. No player is indespensible.

By his standards he's had a poor season but I'm sure he'll rectify that next year

anyone who thinks that was a foul by alonso on ka ****in ka is a joke. the ref was like a big tart and never once allowed contact. that totally suited milans tactics to never allow us into a groove. alonso was the best player on the pitch at half time and just never got the tempo uo to scratch in the second. he is a better centre midfielder than gerrard, end of
