That's the way I see it as well

He has been at Zaragosa since 2003, so I dont know when he supposedly rejected us and moved to another team?

Milito never turned us down, he pleaded to be allowed to join us, but his club set the price too high.

on liverpoolfc.tv theres a thread on Simao and he doesn't seem to be very popular. They compare him to Garcia. is that fair?
If so, then i don't want him as i want a natural winger who can beat players and has an end product.

Depends what you mean by "realistic"?

If Rafa has major funds avalible I see no reason why we can't sign anybody.

But it appears we want him to sign not just anybody but everybody.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Well what i mean is with the players we have been linked with, who do you want and don't want and why?

Realistic means not buying Villa, Kaka and Eto'o

Yesterday showed what we needed all season, a striker with a genuine eye for goal who stays up against the back four.

Owen might be disliked here but he is exactly the type of player we need and is a realistic option whether people like it or not. If not him then a player of his style and goalscoring ability. We already have the other types of strikers to complement him.

Eto'o would be great but realistic?...i dont know Tevez? a good battler will also defend from the front, but i see him more of an improvement on Kuyt.

Well they've got a point. It would guarantee success wouldn't it?

Not sure where Lee Carsley would fit in though. They need people in the club shop and ticket office don't they?

I'd love to see Owen back but i can't see him leaving Newcastle as he feels he owes the fans something.

As far as I can recall we weren't linked with Lucas before we signed him.

I say just let Rafa get on with it. It appears he now has the finacial backing he's wanted. So sit back and enjoy.

He's never thought like that in the past though? So maybe he can repay a little back

Alves - Not sure what he is .Is he good enough defesively for a full back. Has he got good enough dribbling skills to be a winger

Simao - Is he strong enough for the Premiership. do we need another Garcia type player?

Pedersen - Good player but good enough to start?

Eto'o - Cost a lot. Attitude problems but brilliant striker

Tevez - Price seems to be rising. Great player but is he a goalscorer

Villa - Brilliant. Is he too small. Is he too expensive?

Torres - Is he ovverated? Not really a goalscorer but very creative

Amauri - Likened to Drogba but can he win matches on his own?

Who do you want and why?
Alves, exactly what we need, a quality attacking full back who's got good crossing ability and not affraid to get forward

Simao, just what we need for the right side, strong, quick and plenty of flair

Amauri, a surprise signing i feel, quick, strong and a keen eye for goal

Trevez, athough not known for his pace, a very skillfull player who likes to score amazing goals, a dead ball specialist too

Pederson, a good squad player who can light up the wing with his runs and flair

Eto'o, possible signing only if Alonso goes the other way i feel, will bring all the qualities that he has in his amoury

Villa, a exciting player with all the qualities we need, but i feel that unless G+H really push the boat out on him, then we will find ourselves priced out of this summers transfer scramble

The one thing that any new striker needs to have is pure pace. With Bellamy going we would be left with Kuyt, Crouch and Vorinin(sp?) It does mean it would have to be someone like Eto'o, Torres, Villa. No-one in the Prem has stood out this season other than McCarthy, but i think he looks good in a average Blackburn team. Its a pity there isnt a new robbie fowler around the corner in the youth team

I agree pace is an important issue here but, we defo need someone who can bag us 20 goals a season, with a couple of quality wingers banging in the crosses next season, with attacking full backs too, pace might not be that essential(but a delightful benifit)

Amauri - never seen him play

Torres - Overated and not a great goalscorer. He's Heskey part 2, and should be called Bamby - the number of times he falls over is ridiculous

Villa - Brilliant player, but do we need him? The answer is no. We need a goalhanger and he is not this. Plus, he'd probably struggle in the premiership.

Tevez - Brilliant player, but do we need him? Maybe, he's proven in the premiership but again he is not a goalhanger. Besides, I think he's gonna cost a bomb so I think we can rule him out.

Pedersen - No thanks. As ShaggyAlonso says, he is a match of the day player. Produces flashes of brilliance but is not good enough to produce 90 minutes. Besides, he supports Man U the bumbandit.

Simao - Erm no. He's not an orthodox winger and without meaning to sound like a ****, Pennant is good enough and has proved in the last 3 months the money we spent on him was worth it. The only difference between these 2 is, Simao is a bigger goal threat but Pennant is a better crosser

Alves - overvalued and not strong enough defensively. He plays too many long balls and is a poor crosser of the ball. Out of 10 crosses, he'll get one that is accurate and everyone will be like wow, he's amazing. We have a water tight defense and signing this guy would compromise that fact.

I don't know who we're gonna get, I'm a bit lost at this moment and despite the new investment the future is not looking very bright in terms of signing new players. But Believe me, Rafa knows who he wants and is gonna sign some unknown players who will hopefully be cheap as chips and be amazing. In fact it's already started with the signing of that Lucas guy and Leto.

Personally I think we should bring back Salif Diao, Le Tallec, Igor Biscan and Djibril Cisse and offer them contarcts for life. Cracking players that they are
Sorry mate that is just pure BS. Have you actually seen him play. Obviously not much.

                                Hang your head in shame.
