Why cut off your nose to spite your face. He's quality, we'll be better able to compete for #19 with him aboard. Don't you want that?

Its got to be Alves for RB, Tevez as the link player with Villa playing up front on the last man.

I'd take Kuyt, Huntelaar and Etoo before Villa in that role.

lves would be a liability at right back IMO, right midfield is another thing alltogether.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Villa has not got the shysical sresence to play in that role, who would be there to win the crosses.

Torres - Overated and not a great goalscorer. He's Heskey part 2, and should be called Bamby - the number of times he falls over is ridiculous

Villa - Brilliant player, but do we need him? The answer is no. We need a goalhanger and he is not this. Plus, he'd probably struggle in the premiership.

Tevez - Brilliant player, but do we need him? Maybe, he's proven in the premiership but again he is not a goalhanger. Besides, I think he's gonna cost a bomb so I think we can rule him out.

Pedersen - No thanks. As ShaggyAlonso says, he is a match of the day player. Produces flashes of brilliance but is not good enough to produce 90 minutes. Besides, he supports Man U the bumbandit.

Simao - Erm no. He's not an orthodox winger and without meaning to sound like a ****, Pennant is good enough and has proved in the last 3 months the money we spent on him was worth it. The only difference between these 2 is, Simao is a bigger goal threat but Pennant is a better crosser

Alves - overvalued and not strong enough defensively. He plays too many long balls and is a poor crosser of the ball. Out of 10 crosses, he'll get one that is accurate and everyone will be like wow, he's amazing. We have a water tight defense and signing this guy would compromise that fact.
I don't know who we're gonna get, I'm a bit lost at this moment and despite the new investment the future is not looking very bright in terms of signing new players. But Believe me, Rafa knows who he wants and is gonna sign some unknown players who will hopefully be cheap as chips and be amazing. In fact it's already started with the signing of that Lucas guy and Leto.

Personally I think we should bring back Salif Diao, Le Tallec, Igor Biscan and Djibril Cisse and offer them contarcts for life. Cracking players that they are

i would have to say this is the most in accurate thing i have ever read on the internet, unbelievable muck, and that's been kind. but i have only been on the net since '99, so....
Referee Lubos Michel said: “If my assistant referee had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty, and sent off goalkeeper Petr Cech.”

Now that's saying something! I'll try and beat it and say that to win the league we should sign Keith Gillespie, Mark Viduka and Joey Barton.

Yes I am joking but it's got me thinking.....................
