fair enough, but given that our most expensive ever signing is £14mill i think theres something seriously wrong if our reserve signings cost £7mill.
Anyway, this summer will be a good one im sure, as right wingers go theres loads id prefer to pennant so im hopeful we will land one. or two.
    Walk on....

He was the best RW we could afford and we needed to sign one.

Havent we aready got a reserve right winger whos meant to be good? jesus give that guy some games!
What does it matter what he cost now? We've got him and either he's the best option to keep as a reserve player or he isn't.

Buy someone younger with potential etc, it's alright doing that but you can't then ship out Pennant and rely this kid to perform just as well as Pennant has done recently, especially considering the new player will not be getting that many games to adjust. It's taking an unnecessary risk, and for what potential reward?

Buying a top class RM and have Pennant as backup is the smart option. We can ease the new signing in as suits - with Pennant already being au fait with the workings of our team he will step in as and when required so we don't disadvantage ourselves if the new player is struggling to come to terms with certain things particualrly at the beginning of the season.

That you prefer to make do with someone we already have as a reserve player but you can't name that player sort of indicates to me you're going off a personal distaste for Pennant rather than being objective about this. The only two ways I can see where it makes sense for us to get rid of Pennant is if we have two really first rate RM players coming in, which is highly unlikely given we need to strengthen other areas, or if Rafa wants to continue to play SG on the right which I seriously hope is not the case.

Please please please get rid of the crap this summer..its our best ever opportunity!
with you all the way. one of our best performances on wednesday, bollocks!!! not once did he beat his man, not once did he put in anything near to a telling cross from free play. squad player at best to show-off against medicore opposition

I'm not saying Pennant is world class, but he's done well against Chelsea who have the best defence in wolrd football and who are a bloody good team.

            Certainly wouldn't call them mediocre.

i think he's mainly a fullback, don't think i want him, especially not as a cb, milito is much better. and we have arbeloa as back up for finnan. and we're still after alves. doubt it will happen...

one off? he seems to handle cashly well everytime he's up against him.

ok he's good to have in the squad but no better than that. he might grow to be a great player but the problem with pennant is that he lacks self belief. I don't know if we can afford the luxury of another season for him to find it.

                  Definitely.

He seemed to be saying that this team did as well as it could, but now it's time to move onto the next level.

I understand the jermaine has bought a new house in Hallucinationville. He is selling his house in Fantasytown, where he has lived for the last year.
                    Really?
