Very true, i have warmed to him somewhat he could improve alot, im not his biggest fan and wouldnt cry if he left but he does add something different to our game.

On the topic of the players that are a bit concerned as to where their future lies, the whole lot of them its safe to say will never achieve anything when they leave Liverpool and practically the end of their career in terms of winning medals.

You never know mate Welll if the reports of tha chanvs, Milan and other being interested in Riise are true then he may well win something if he left, Bellers could win the league cup i supose lol. He would thrive uner O'Niell or back at Blackburn. He is not suited to our style.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I would take everything I read in the papers at the moment with a pinch of salt. Rafa was quoted the other day as saying our existing squad was not big enough so if you consider the fact that already fowler, dudek, zenden and gonzalez are gone with seemingly hyppia and bellamy to follow we would then be looking at signing 6 players to replace these and a further 3 or 4 to beef up the squad. Rafa will replace the weaker first team players such as riise, crouch, pennat etc with top class players and the weaker forst team players will become strong squad members. I don't think a mass influx/exodus of players this summer will do the team any favours. If we do sign 4-5 players I would like to see them slowly brought into the first team otherwise a repeat of the start to the season we had last year will happen!!
        Dare we believe

          Please no.

I ****ing love Riise. He may not be the most gifted player we have but he has improved his defensive positioning a lot under Rafa, he's been at the club for a long time and is part of the furniture in a good way, he always gives 100% never stops ****ing running, is rarely injured, pops up with vital goals playing at LB or LM, and if nothing else is a quality backup player. I would be ****ing gutted to see him go for sentimental reasons, but also a bit disappointed for footballing reasons.

Its all about winning now, Rafa is going to be ruthless id say he wanted to get rid of alot of players since he came but couldnt becasue of money restrictions. This summer he can do it all now get rid of the crap players and bring his his first choice ones

John Arne Riise is battling to save his Liverpool career.

The Norway international is set to be made available by Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez this summer, says the Daily Post.

Chelsea, Juventus and AC Milan are among clubs to have been linked with the left-sided wing-back in the last six months.
I fully expect every paper with not much to say on the football pages to create a "Liverpool player X battles to save his Anfield career" story. Rafa has come out and said peoples places are on the line but I suspect that the regular back 5, Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Kuyt Crouch are all safe with Pennant seeming likely to be added to that list. If nothing else we need the core of team to allow new signings to bed in.

I ****in hate Riise, like no other Liverpool player, sell him not only is he defensively **** he is also **** running with the ball, he can kick a ball really hard though, not where he wants it to go but really hard.
We have needed a left back for years, loads of our goals have been conceded down our left for years and that is no coincedence. Sell him while he has value and grab Shorey off Reading.

Its going to be extra silly season this summer with the new owners and the money that we have.

Riise is a one trick pony. It's a great trick but I think we need something more that 3-5 goals a season from him. Possibly the ability to defend would help.

Tell you what, if Riise had been out for the a significant of this season or any season people might appreciate him a bit more. Our other LBs have been far worse defensively. "I ****ing hate Riise" what's that all about? Don't rate him fine, but "****in hate" come on. We're talking about someone who has given everything for us and for a long period of time.

is that why we keep more clean sheets when he plays? he may not be a world class full back but he''s good enough it would be crazy to sell him

Ok hate maybe strong but he is the player that frustrates me most. He is always involved in free kicks when he hits the target once in a very blue moon, his awareness and positioning is awful, the proof will be in IF we do decide to sell what level of clubs come in for him. Also he does stuff off the field which show him up as being a complete idiot.

"Riise has been talking about going to Spain on holidays with the family this summer" turns into...

"Reports are that Riise has publicly stated that he is off to Spain during the transfer window."

I don't trust anything they say until it's said by someone credible that isn't quoting Tribal.

I love Jonny. Yeah, he's not the best technically or tactically but he gives 110% and has the engine of a 747. He's not the only one to have a ****e season is he?

By all means upgrade him, but he is still more than worthy of a place in the squad FFS. Even if we but 5 new 1st teamers, we still need some continuity as cover and to help them bed in.
                              3rd place. Worst champions ever.
