Would the blame lie with Lpool fans if there had been a Terrorist incident?

I wasn't at Athens on Wednesday - so maybe I haven't got a legitimate reason to comment. Whilst the dust is starting to settle – I hope UEFA look back at this final and take a serious hard look at themselves for putting on a Final in a country which quite frankly isn’t ready to host a major footballing show piece.

One thing that has been over looked by them – how would have UEFA dealt with the scenario if a Terrorist extremist waltzed into the Stadium with an explosive device and caused something catastrophic. Would they have blamed Liverpool fans then?

Surely no stringent searches took place – if they are saying that thousands of people managed to get into the stadium without producing a valid ticket etc. Were their any security checks regarding the content of peoples bags?

And what about the lacksadaisical attitude when letting ticketless people onto the planes.

Searches were poor. I took something out of my left hand pocket and held it in my left hand as the Greek Police officer searched me. He never checked my left hand. It would have been so so easy to get in with potentially dangerous stuff.

I had a few cans of Heineken in a bag along with a full bottle of Coke which I took into the "Fan Zone" area and the police even looked in my bad and just told me to go through.

No alcohol was sold in this fan zone part either even though the whole place was covered in Heineken adverts and things like:

Didn't try and take the cans into the actual stadium though.

Why dont you email him and tell him exactly what you think of him. I did and if more people did it maybe some sort of message might get through.

Brian Reade's article in the Mirror today would make your blood boil. Worth a look
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

Without painstakingly searching everyone it is impossible to stop determined people getting into any event they wish. I can assure you if a terrorist decided they wanted to get into any sporting/musical event, they would suceed unless they were inept in the extreme. People are not trained to deal with these people, as the cost of employing people that know what they are doing would be far too much.

Was a wallet but it was small enough to be concealed in my hand but certainly big enough to cause damage if it had been semtex etc. The police officer didn't even go to the bottom of my bag I was carrying. The point is the search was crap. In fact it was all crap to be honest. Either do it properly or get someone in who can. Most of the problems encountered by the Greeks were self generated. Their job is to detect and deter. They did neither. I'm very surprised as they had ample warning.

If you think that the searches carried out are to stop terrorists then you are mistaken.

I know they weren't searches to find terrorists. However the searches weren't even good enough to account for public order issues.

We had our bag extensively searched, as did everybody else I saw, and they took all the liquids off us such as deodorant, mosquito spray and spray-on suntan lotion.

We also had to show our tickets at least six times and had it scanned under a black light for authenticity. However, it is still fully intact (not ripped or hole-punched) and we spoke to lots of people who'd got in with blag tickets. One fella on the ferry back to Crete had got in with a forgery so bad it said:

                          LIVERPOOL FC VERSUS DC MILAN

Another bloke at the airport this morning said he had a ticket himself but he copied it using a basic flat bed scanner on his home PC, did dodgy copies for his mates and unbelievably some of them got in. He went with his wife and two sons and they all got in with three tickets between them.

We even spoke with someone who got in just by showing the blue outer folder that the tickets came in...

I didnt get searched at all but my ticket was checked and torn, it was an hour before kick off though the real aggro didnt start till later i guess, the panic was only just starting.

My ticket got punched, torn, and checked by blacklight, but I was effectively looking for them to do all this so I could get through as quick as poss, and I could see that people who were trying to avoid the checks would easily be able to do so. At each checkpoint there would be moments where a few people sneaked through by pushing their way through the middle and then they'd casually walk on to the next point.
