I honestly thought it had to be done at that point in the match. He is a genuine holdong player and we needed to go for it. Alonsos passing was far more progressive and we really couldn't just play keep ball at the end.

Good player. I am a bit worried he may be prone to a cruciate sooner rather than later though. Some of his tackling does concern me - he has a habit of running in from behind/alongside a player and then twisting as he makes the tackle to win the ball - I fear one day his studs may catch in the turf as he twists round and then pop his ligaments. Hope not.

Slightly different as we were losing a final and we had to be positive to try and get back in, Houllier's was non sensical as we were in a winning position at the time.
