I still think that we will sign Alves
He is ours if Rafa want him and pay him enough money.
Maybe Rafa changed his mind and got a better option lined up but I doubt that.
All I said about the Alves deal is that he will cost £18m, that is the fee Sevilla agreed with Alves when he signed his new deal. I also said that we are Alves first option, probably because we would pay him more than Barca or Real, and that we want him.
Maybe Real or Barca now offers him better wages than us, who knows?
Everyone knows that Alves will look at the money first, he has said that himself.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Bascombe and Maddock are the only ones that with a good record IMO. When they say that we are interested in a player then in most cases they will be spot on.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

I'm always interested to hear what GB has to say on Sky as he is close to Rafa, but I never expect him to come out with the total truth as that would be just silly if he does get info from Rafa.
What's probably true is that Rafa does reveal to him what he thinks and hopes for, but makes sure that GB gives such and such info out on telly - whether it's all smokescreen or just titbits of info that LFC don't mind having heard to the nation.
If you listen to what GB says regularly then sometimes you might just pick up some genuine info hidden in there somewhere, but he will never reveal the total truth on the tv asit would just be silly if Rafa or LFC is giving it to him.
I didn't see it on tv but I'd guess that we are looking to buy some of the players mentioned and if we could get one of the named strikers then it'd be just brilliant!
