you could well be right
I am simply going on previous experience
it would make more sense, although the offal only lists the black kit as euro away (not 3rd choice EPL)
it would also make the black kit more attractive to buy, because as I said earlier it is possible for us to go through a whole Euro campaign and never wear it
My experiences of the previous years away kit being 3rd choice is probably before we jumped on the Champions league "away kit" bandwagon, which let's be honest is just another ploy to get us to part with even more of our hard earned cashLawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"
Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"
Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

If I recall in previous years, we actually called a certain kit the 3rd kit and still had it available for sale. The yellow isn't being produced any more and you buy it in the shops (unless it's old stock) so it'd be a really daft idea not to give a kit we've launched the most games possibly available to it.
Although i understand what you're saying I do remember a few times when we wore the yellow or green kit from the previous season, but I think clubs have picked up on the marketing since then. The black kit for example is just a glorified 3rd kit, but they give it the title of euro away kit to make it sound more appealing to the customers as they think they'll see it in use more than about twice.Thomas Hicks Senior

Torres will score in this game.Originally posted by Iceman View PostIt has always been that way
we tend to rotate our away kit from white, yellow green or black (with the notable horrendous exceptions of ecru and silver), although the current sequence has been white, yellow, white
The problem mainly happens with the white kit, when we play a team whose home colours are red and white (eg Sunderland, Arsenal etc), in those matches we revert to our previous years away kit as our 3rd choice kit, so this year we will wear our yellow kit away at sunderland on Aug 25th
The black kit is simply our changed strip for european matches only, when we cant wear red
I have foreseen it.
