I genuinely think Kuyt can be our 25/30 goal a season man, if he didnt go chasing all over the bloody pitch! If the team was set up right and he stay much nearer the box more of the time the goal would come.

He will defo get better if he is played as an out and out striker instead of dropping too deep all the time.

To be honest Shaggy I think he's been played as a second striker or very deep more often than not, how many times can you remember when he's played up top with Crouch, and Crouch gets the ball in the center circle only to find he can't knock it on because Kuyt is either alongside him or further back. If Kuyt played round the box more i think he'd have had another 5/6 league goals easily, but i think it's more to do with Rafa's tactics, the same could be said of Cisse but we wont go there

Like I say, play him up top before you criticize his ability to play in a position other than AM. He's shown more than once that he's a typical center forward. He just needs to be played as, errrm, a typical center forward. Good call on Voronin, maybe he can take the deeper role from Kuyt.

Let's hope so 'cos I think, like Jol says, that Kuyt can be a 20+20.

Aye, there's a good call. I'm here thinking a possible signing of Tevez will cause problems as to what Dirks role will be for us next season, that i totally forgot about Voronin.

I'm still thinking Rafa wants a big signing target man, so i'm really unsure Dirky Boy is gonna get that nod/role as up the top striker for next season UNLESS Rafa isn't backed OR the first choice signing he wants doesn't want to come here.

EDIT: It means that supporting the reds (now online after all these years) brings in a whole new dimension. I'm really nervous as to what our new team for the 2007/2008 Premiership title campaign is going to be, hence my bum hole twitching between the size of a 2p - 5p respectively.

Simao, Maluda, Tevez, Voronin, Silva ( popping up more and more ) Mancini.

Rafa said he wanted more creativity and that he had the strikers to score the goals.

I think we will defo see Kuyt play as a proper center forward next season.
Plus, you all are forgetting one important attribute of his. He makes very clever runs and is very good at loosing his marker. Plus he has all the confidence in the world.

Simao, - I am more convinced he can do a job here. Only worry would be that he needs to beef up.

Saying that, he single hand-diddly knocked us out last year. He's been there and bought the T-Shirt in footy's main comps. Club & Country.

I really, REALLY want a new 'Shaggy' for our wing after watching tonights 1996/97 Prem league review. God how i miss him.
