I watched quite a few of his games for the Pars and while he's able to get past his man quite often his end-product is not so good yet. Still a candidate for the Carling cup if you ask me.

That's what I thought in the first place. He needs to get a regular run of games in the Carling cup and his progress should be monitored from there. But it's up to him to make that step up for a first team place. He has the talent.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostI watched quite a few of his games for the Pars and while he's able to get past his man quite often his end-product is not so good yet. The real value of his time at the Pars has been the improvement in his attitude, according to their manager, he knows he has to sacrafice for the sake of the team and knows what it's like to fight fight fight for a result.Originally posted by fredo View PostThat's what I thought in the first place. That's priceless. If he can sort out his final ball he'll be a squad player worth having around and maybe he can make the transition from squad player to first teamer. I do think he has it in him. The issue is gonna be is he gonna have the opportunity to take that last step up.The Crushing Machine MKII

But he's classically naive. I'm sure there are some great youtube clips because he is that type of reel player... attacking and skilful.
However during the course of the game he's more infuriating than the likes of Garcia on a bad day. Doesn't quite have the vision at times, is a bit too easy to knock off the ball and lacks the work rate (defensively)/fitness for a premiership game.
As i said, he's skilful enough to be a good prospect, but i get the impression he thinks he's better than he actually is. A season in the EPL would ruin his confidence, and at this stage of his career i'd prefer he got regular games!
Championship - nailed on for me....

Bob, you're being a bit of a pessimist, he's come on a long way since joining the pars and until given the opportunity we won't know whether he can take that final step. Playing in the SPL though is probably the best thing that has happened to him. I'd keep him in the squad because I think he can make it. He's competed well in the SPL which is very much a physical league ala the EPL.Originally posted by Bob View Post

He's not there yet, but then neither was Ronaldo a couple of years ago.The Crushing Machine MKII

Sounds promising. I think he is unlucky as if we were a fully stable team who were already sure of 10 out of 11 players for a title challenging side then he might be given a sub place for a few games we were confident of winning. As it si we need to improve the first XI and I think it would be unfair to put that level of pressure on him.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostI watched quite a few of his games for the Pars and while he's able to get past his man quite often his end-product is not so good yet. It would be good to see him on loan at a good championship or attacking lower PL side."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Good call. Who do they have wide - Convey, Seol, Little & Hunt I think. I imagine he would have to be as good as them if he is ever to make it.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostReading would be the perfect team for him.

He's at an age where he needs regular football, given the summer we'll have he'll be lucky to get a few games in the Carling Cup. A full season in the championship will do him no harm at all.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostBob, you're being a bit of a pessimist, he's come on a long way since joining the pars and until given the opportunity we won't know whether he can take that final step. Reading would be ideal, he could be used as a stop gap for that Sidgewell fella....

Good point. But the only way we're gonna find out if he's ready or not is to throw him at the deep end. A great run of games and his confidence could go up two notches.Originally posted by Bob View PostHe's at an age where he needs regular football, given the summer we'll have he'll be lucky to get a few games in the Carling Cup. But I guess, with the players coming in, he won't be having that chance.
