As I told you at work Marcus, you seem to be wanting us to have signed 5 of the bioggest names in world football by now and so do a fair few other people. As pointed out, the Spanish league is still going, I would imagine the players we are mostly getting would be from there.

As far as Malouda goes - come on, give it a break. I told you the other day that you can't write him off just because he has come from the French league. You have no clue how he will adapt - and he is a half decent player. You still forget that Zenden is leaving, Gonzales is leaving, Kewell maybe leaving and Riise may leave, so we need at least 3, maybe 4 players on that side to replace them - Malouda would be one of those players. Would you complain if the other player we get is Silva or something?
    You walk down road.

We will get either Eto'o or Tevez and probably Alves as well. Someone should keep there pants on.

Lucas will be the greatest upset in the PL since Cantona. Wait and see.

You cheeky ****, why you expose me for fella.

I don't want us to have signed the biggest names, I was just saying that I thought the guy from TLW made some good points.

Regarding Malouda, I don't care if he has never played in England, I can still give an opinion. I have seen him play and don't rate him all that much to be honest.

Anyway get off back to work.

I have been posted a load of information for my pending PGCE in ICT course at uni, and I have already been given a pre-course assignment (to hand in when I start in September). Not happy at all.

I completely agree with you about Hargreaves but I believe that Carrick and he will be the future united midfield for most games.

I actually think that the type of purchases that united have gone for have improved our position. At the start of the transfer window I would have estimated ourselves and United being willing to spend around £50m. We were both likely to look for three big signings. Two of which overlapped - wingers and striker.

If united go for two unproven, potential players then that has meant they are out of the bidding for more experienced targets. We can't afford to go for stars who will be good in two years, they can and have and we have to accept that being in a better position currently gives them an advantage. But it is a better position for us than at the begining of the summer as one of the people who would go for the same oplayers we would and if not buy them instead would certainly drive the price up.

I think it is unfair of people to criticise any given transfer before we have seen the whole package of who we bring in and have then seen them play together. People are getting carried away with the speculation.

A lot of people seem to have divided into two lunatic camps. Those who believe we will buy a plethora of world class stars including Eto'o for £40m (for ****s sake - we will be run as a business and frankly no player will bring in that amount through added success and revenue) and those who want to shriek that we will never catch United/Chelsea now, before they have even seen who we sign or how the new look team will shape up. It is stiffling sensible debate and getting silly.

I think people are overreacting over the Scum's buys. If we had bought Lucas from the portugese league for 15m and Scum had bought Anderson from brazil for 6m then people would be saying we got the better player.
Regarding Malouda coming from france, Houllier bought Cisse and Malouda was scoted by Rafa's scouts so there is a lot of difference there

I suspect that at the minute that signings of great potential are of more use to United though. In principle I agree with you thou that people are just bringing their general pessimism to bear as most have seen very little of the players in question.

I feel the need to mildly defend Cisse. He wasn't great but he did two thinks well - run at people and hit the ball hard at goal.

When he played on the right we offered a lot more threat on goal and consequently at the end of his time here it was notable that we had a string of good resulst and that he and Gerrard got a lot of goals. I think that the general lesson from this is that by having more players who are a threat in the team, even if they are not top quality they can improve the side. Malouda may well be highly effective for us and improve the team much more than any increment in ability he has over our current team by simply being more likely to shoot/score goals, which also creates space for other players and tap ins for forwards.

Lets stop worrying about United FFS. We only play them twice a year. all we need to worry about is Rafa constructing a team that can get 3 points in every game. Ferguson has his methods and tactics, Rafa has his. As long as we get the 3 points every week i dont care how we get them.
                        In Klopp we trust.

They have been after Nani for well over a year too, Anderson is the only surprise.

If things were smooth Rafa wouldn't have said jack ****.
We had many many false dawns every year about a takeover. thats happened now, so it's best just to wait and see.

also i think Rafa just had an outburst because we lost the CL Final.

lets wait a few more weeks before coming to some sort of conclusion.
Lets just get on with the job and see how it pans out at the end.

I must confess to never having seen Malouda play. Can anyone fill me in on what type of left winger he is? Is he tricky, direct, does heg o past people or whip balls in? What's his delivery and goal scoring like? He's currently the French footballer of the year so I'd be surprised if he were complete pants, but I guess that's not enough to go on...
