This time however, UEFA have misjudged the situation badly. They would have doine better to have said nothing, instead of preparing a dossier of 25 incidents that doesn't throw up any significant incidents. That only emphasises that basically we enjoy a good reputation abroad, but it shows the desperation of UEFA to make scapegoats of us. Meanwhile, the balanced yet firm rebuttals from club and UK sports minister have only drawn attention to how badly UEFA managed the situation. Even the former Tory leader Michael Howard (never my favorite MP, but fair play to him) has come out of this with enhanced credibility for standing up for us in advance of an official reaction.
We should be pushing for the resignation of Gaillard now, and a full apology to the club and fans. Also the sports minister should tell Platini that we (i.e. all the British clubs) aren't going to be scapegoats for UEFA anymore. In fact it is part of UEFA's role to look after the fans, not blame them for their own incompetence, and it is UEFA who need to improve their behaviour next time.
Aye- and the fact that English footy has now cleaned up its act over the last 15 years or so should be emphasised & the question should be posed as to what countries like Italy, Turkey, France, Spain, Germany, Holland etc are doing about their various issues.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

      Excellent post mate.
The whole football landscape has changed so much since Heysel. Back then the top clubs didn't hold anything like the power they do now. The FA/UEFA/FIFA ruled the roost and the clubs had to tow the line. All this has now changed. The clubs forced UEFA to introduce the Champions League, for fear of a breakaway European League, it they didn't.

I think we should get the whole weight of the G14 behind us, to really take UEFA on over this. we need a full apology and the sacking of the clown.

UEFA really are a bunch of incompetent morons.

The more I think about UEFA, the more it looks like the tail wagging the dog. Bloody UEFA should be there to protect and support the fans, not obstruct them. They may have been able to duck their responsibilities after Heysel, but this time round they are being exposed as fools and parasites. The threat of a breakaway league might be just what it takes to imbue them with some sort of customer focus.
                    Liverpool FC über alles.

what uefa also dont mention is that liverpool fans have contributed millions of euros to the local economys, probably more so than any other club.

Not to mention swelling the coffers of the 'Uefa Family' members who decided they wanted a ticket for the final so that they could tout it.
THe more I think about it - the more I think we should have asked/told all fans who bought a ticket on the black market to keep a record of its serial number so it can be traced back to the **** who touted it.

Talk about damning with faint praise.

Let's find that Danish bloke who went after Fandel and pay him some more money to do Gaillard and Platini
