Rumour has it when the doctor tried to revive him, his first words were "My name is Ashley...Ashley Cole...honest".

Being a lousy drunk myself, I've learned from experience that, if you keep getting drunk, you will eventually do something stupid again. JP doesn't need this at all--he improved tremendously for us over the course of the season and is finally starting to get to the point where people are talking about him more for his football than his drunken exploits.

I really hope he tones down his drinking because, based on his past behavior, if he continues to go out on the piss (and, yes, I know it's offseason and all), he WILL eventually **** up again.
You know absolutely **** all about him. He has ****ed up good and proper ONCE. For which he has served his punishment. And he has been a model professional all season.

The rest is just sanctimonious bull**** on your behalf.

Wow, man, I guess I really rubbed you the wrong way. Why so hostile?

In terms of Pennant ****ing up, the drunk driving was one, and turning up for training still drunk from the night before last season with Birmingham was two. And I'm willing to bet that there have been plenty of times when he's forgotten how to act when he's been loaded, that just haven't made the tabloids. Jermaine Pennant has the opportunity to become a very wealthy man doing something that a great many people can only dream of doing. And it would be a shame for him to get drunk, do something stupid again, and waste that opportunity.

Sanctimonious bull****...I don't think so. People who do stupid **** when they're drunk shouldn't get drunk. Period. I'm well aware that Pennant's professional behavior has been excellent during the season, but all it takes for him, given his reputation, is one moment of poor judgement in the wrong place at the wrong time to land him back in hot water.

I have a feeling that Pennant simply can't hold his ale...speaking from experience, I can't either, which is why I don't drink a lot. Neither should he.

I fall asleep on an airplane every time I get on; Plus, I've flown with a massive hangover and passed out on a plane a MILLION times; How is this news? Is it against the law to fly while hung over? Ridiculous.

Maybe he'll learn a lesson here from an ex England Cricket captain to not get caught suffering on a plane but take a Pedalo home instead.

Pennant hasn't ****ed up twice when he turned up drunk at Brums training ground he wasn't meant to be there he had the day off because he was the only one playing well. He got drunk and wanted to see his mates in the morning when he was still drunk big deal that isn't it?
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because I know a great deal about him, and he is most certainly, definitely, absolutely, not the person you are portraying him as.

The training incident was along the lines that El Diego has outlined. He knew he had the day off and went on a night out on the Saturday that had been planned for a while and agreed by the club. That leaves one stupid mistake, which happened years ago now, and which he well and truly learned his lesson from. This season for us he has been a model professional, and has earned a decent holiday with his mates in the few weeks before pre-season training starts.

It doesn't matter if any of us passes out on a plane due to drink - we are the everyday masses, we aren't role models. I just think it sends out the wrong message to the young, that's all.

Let him enjoy myself, get pissed in the close season - just do it out of the public eye.

I do not think that anyone, of any age, considers JP as a role model.

Apparently one of Vernazzas big problems is that he likes playing social football too much. When at Arsenal and Watford reportedly he used to play Powerleague and other 5 a side games a lot an constantly got himself injured the daft prick.
