Look, after all the **** that Diouf done it was ok to abuse him but its not ok to abuse Bellamy?
Im not into blasting our players. That is not me and I agree, NONE of our players should get abused from our own fans but it is looking likely that he will be gone and Im a little hacked off that we are guessing who will come in and its frustrating the **** out of me becasue la liga is not over yet and we arent (publicly) making progress in the transfer market.

Anyway, sorry to be a prick and for offending anyone who likes Bellamy, (my stepson loves him and is gutted that he his going) and I wish him the best werever he goes.

It's not just you but a lot of people have forwarded theories of how we will radically alter our squad largely based on the fact Xabi hadn't signed a new contract yet and I just find the speculation amusing. No offence meant squire, I like you as a poster.

I said that a couple of days ago that I couldn't understand why everyone thought that Xabi would be off because he hasn't signed a new deal yet. He was away with Spain so he couldn't sign a new deal. I also said that if he hadn't signed a deal in a week or so then I would be worried that he may be off.

I'm surprised that Momo will stay because I can't see him play that many games, maybe 10-15 games. Mascherano is clearly first choice as our holding midfielder so Momo would then need to battle it out with Gerrard, Alonso and Lucas for the remaining one or two central midfield positions.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

You should apply for Ian Cotton's job mate. You would do a great job there, believe me.

Im a bit surprised that Momo is staying too. Dont get me wrong, im glad he is staying, huge potential and all that but why try and fight for a place against Stevie, Xabi and Mascher? He probably would be better off for him personally to go somewere he could grow as a player playing week in week out not trying to get 10-15 games a season under his belt.
Anyway, great news that these three are signing new deals.

There are a number of potential reasons:
1/ He believes Rafa wil develop him more if he plays 10 games with us than he would given more under a **** manager.
2/ Rafa has outlined the fact he will play a reasonable number of games - maybe we will play three centrally (I don't think Momo was ever in competition for the holding midfield role directly, although I get the point that he adds less to the attack than either Gerrard or Alonso in CM).
3/ He likes his life in Liverpool and doesn't want to move on again so soon.
4/ We pay more than he would get elsewhere
5/ He feels we might win things and wants to bwe part of it
6/ Rafa may have plans to play him in another position in addition to CM, maybe right back.

Obviously all the above are speculative but I think you can easily come up with as many reasons to stay as to leave.

All good points dww and if he manages to push his way into the team ahead of Xabi and Mascher then he must be doing something remarkable in training which can only be a good thing for us.

With Momo and Xabi seemingly commiting to the club, does this suggest anthing about Mascherano's future at the club beyond this coming season? Not that Rafa doesn't want to keep him or that we can't afford to keep him necessarily, but just preparing himself for the (unlikely?) possibility that he might not be with us beyond that.

I wonder what the situation is with Riise's new contract.
I am guessing that Finnan is safe enough after being Mr consistency for the past three seasons.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I think i breathed the biggest sigh of relief out of almost everyone there. When Momo/Xabi (I don't fear about Reina going) sign up I'll be the happiest man on the planet.

Good news also in the article about Bellamy going. We'll never get 12m imo but if we can squeeze excess of what we paid i'll be pleased.
