Definitely just a smokescreen to get Juventus to make a move on Sissoko. Alonso might stay but I doubt it. Anyways they're definitely not all staying why would we need 5 centre midfielders??? You can't keep all of them happy especially the quality of the 5 we have, none of them are squad players they're all starters.
A tad unfair operation. He has real potential to become a great player for us if we can give him half a chance. dont forget, he still is pretty young and was off form after his last injury.
We need a bit of bite in midfield when were playing fancy arsed teams who pass is along the floor and for me Momo is perfect for them sort of games.
Can you imagine that monster coming at you with pace when you got the ball? **** me I'd **** myself and just give the ball and tell him to leave me alone.
Don't get me wrong, he has his attributes and can do a job at disrupting the opposition, but I don't think that's enough. His passing is erratic to say the least and his close control is terrible. In fact half of his 'all action' tackes seem to come from chasing down a ball he's miscontrolled. For a team looking not to lose he's fine, but I don't think we need to carry such a player.

With Momo and Xabi seemingly commiting to the club, does this suggest anthing about Mascherano's future at the club beyond this coming season? Not that Rafa doesn't want to keep him or that we can't afford to keep him necessarily, but just preparing himself for the (unlikely?) possibility that he might not be with us beyond that.
It's definitely not 100% certain that Mascherano will stay.
I think it's purely down to the player himself - the key to keeping Mascherano is for him and his family to settle into life on Merseyside to the same extent that Reina or Alonso have.

I think that is enough for a squad player, which is what Momo is now.
Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it
Everyone is assuming that Masher is a done deal, we still have to pay very good money for him and actually it worries me that both Xabi and Momo have signed because it could/might (speculative theory) spell adios to Masher, dunno only guessing.
Also with the stadium being delayed by a year could the short term use of those funds for a season be used as a makeweight transfer kitty to bring success on the field assuring a massive uptake on future season tickets, now I know we have a 60k waiting list and 165k fan card base but that would be needed as reality will show only a small percentage of that usually take up because it will imply a handing over of cash.
