Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, but why the **** would LFC NEED to sell big teams in packs with lesser teams. Do we not sell out every single game as it is? With the massive amount of people on the ST wait list, aren't people chomping at the bit to get a seat to any match? This idea works in hockey here in Canada, but that's because it's tough to sell out a 64 game regular season.
Football there is a religion. Sports here are just that; sports. People don't have anywhere near the passion here as they do there for their teams so it's needed to make it economically viable. I've always been under the impression that every LFC game sells out regardless.
Am I wrong?
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
No, loco, you're pretty much right, but that's largely because of the fact that Anfield is currently too small to satisfy demand. However, some matches are easier to obtain a ticket for than others. For instance, mid-week matches against the likes of Middlesbrough often take several days to sell out; weekend matches often sell out within hours, regardless of the opposition.
When we increase to 61,000 (or 66,000), then I'd expect Liverpool FC to find it difficult to sell out certain fixtures, particularly to corporate clients or more transient supporters (the people who perhaps visit once or twice a season). Within a stadium of a larger capacity, I think there's scope for different pricing structures and that, within the top bands, block packages might be attractive to both customers and the Club. However, I don't think there's a need to do this at a lower level; in fact, I would oppose it because, as someone pointed out, there are people who would willingly pay (say) £200 for a 5-match package if that included the one 'big' game they wanted to see, thus depriving other ordinary fans of a seat, especially if they can't afford to buy up these multi-tickets.
I like those retro stadiums. HKS have built some great stuff and seem to incorporate lots of sliding roof/glass walls ( or at least it looks that way on their website ), very exciting, cutting edge stuff anyway.
Love that stadium and the new Dallas Cowboys one that they've designed, if we can have something along those lines then it would be great. Far better than the old sterile design we had previously.
Thats not bad at all. Take out a few corporate box thingys and the floating cars and bottles, chuck in a few big **** off piccies of us winning stuff and a one tier Kop and Id be happy with that. Im a fan of old style buildings.
