IMO, I don't think it would ever happen. But as it is clear we can't afford a top bracket striker, if Forlan did come in, would you start to believe me when I say we will never win the league with Rafa in charge?

I blame Moores because he made a fat profit on his investment in LFC by selling out to H&G for 5k per share instead of doing what was right for the club and selling to DIC for 4K per share. All silliness aside, Forlan wasn't given much of a chance at SCUM. Drogba was dog**** at Chavski for 2 seasons and last season he was a close second in player of the year votes. If Rafa gets the best out of him then fair play to Rafa.

It wouldn't change my opinion of Rafa as a manager though if we did sign him. Rafa would still be a great tactician and a manager who demands hard work and dedication from his players. He'd still be a winner.

forlan had an entire season with scum to prove his worth. so did morientes with us..josemi started well but got lost in the woods midway and rafa had to get a cover for finnan ....hence krompkamp. nunez we all know that was due to do that midget

Rafa has a very good record working with Defenders & Midfielders, but not so good with Strikers. I think he is too tactical with them and gets them to defend a little too often. I think we will get the balance sorted soon though so I am not too worried

I don't have a problem with us signing players who used to play for Man Utd.

Forlan has definitely performed well in Spain and it has to be noted that Crouch took time to bed in at LFC before contributing with goals - though he was doing the business in terms of helping the team before that. Kuyt too has gone though some patchy spells where goals were hard to find.

If we signed him I'd hope that the last few season have helped him mature - he is now 28 so should be at his peak - but I'd be extremely disappointed if he was our only striker purchase. I'd much rather see us bringing in a younger striker because at that age he has the potential to be a more expensive Nando-esque disappointment.
