Also a mate of mine was saying that Ramos had done as good job at Sevilla as Rafa had done at Valencia. He said that Sevilla had less money and were not a big money. What do you guys think? I told him to **** off
Sevilla have had a very strong youth policy in place for a long time now. They've also picked up a few bargains that have worked out well, e.g. Kanoute.
I can see where the comparison comes from - both Sevilla and Liverpool are competing against teams with bigger budgets and therefore have to rely ond a style of play and teamwork.

Much as I hate the ****, Bobby Charlton should be on there somewhere. Maybe George Best, be he was largely hype, though the talent was unquestionable. He just didn't do it over a long period of time like the others. Never played in a world cup either.

I don't think we will ever agree on a definition of "world class" and even if we did, we would never agree which players fit that definition because it is entirely subjective.
However, I think all international players can be split into three categories: legendary, world class and international class.
Below I have shown examples of three team of past players who I believe fall into each category. I hope these teams can be used to measure the standard of current players. If you want to know the international standard of a particular player, put him in each of these teams and ask yourself if he deserves to be there.
Legendary
Players with ability and achievements that transcend their era or generation. Pioneers that can be considered to be the best of all time in their position. Example team:
Yashin
Carlos Alberto
Baresi
Beckenbauer
Maldini
De Stefano

Cruyff
Garrincha
Zidane
Pele
World class
The best players of their generation. Outstanding players who performed to the highest standard on the world stage, leading their international and/or domestic teams to success in major tournaments. Example team:
Players who have served their country throughout their career and contributed greatly in terms of appearances and/or performances and/or goals. Example team:
