I am sure Lucas and Jamie would have already made peace. If there was serious bitterness there Rafa would know about it IMO.

Despite what some people say too Neill did apolagize for the incident:

Lucas Neill has wished Jamie Carragher a speedy recovery and apologised for breaking the Liverpool defender's leg at Blackburn on Saturday.

Neill insists there was no intent on his part to hurt Carragher and he claims he simply went to play the ball with his two footed tackle.

"It is very sad for Jamie and I feel deeply sorry for him," said Neill. "No-one likes to hear of any player being injured, especially for the long term, but there was absolutely no intent on my part - I simply went to play the ball.

"I am an aggressive and committed player, that is part of my game, but I play it fairly.

"I pass on my best wishes to Jamie for a speedy recovery and hope at some stage to be able to go over to see him and shake his hand."

It's strange the way it is being reported. I can only suspect perhaps someone in the Aussie camp has got wind of it through Neill's camp. I'd assume Lucas would of contacted someone like Graham Arnold (the temporary Australian manager and assistant to Hiddink during WC) to talk about the possibility. Also Robbie Slater who mentioned the possiblity on Saturday on Aus TV has connections in Liverpool, i'd assume possibly at Blackburn still being an ex-player and is also friends with Graham Arnold and has contacts in the Australian national team camp.

Yeah it seems to have all happened via you lot on Oz! I am just very surprised that nothing at all has been mentioned in any British media. Never seen that before. That's whay I have strong doubts about it happening.

I've also ignored this 'rumour' for a few days now as I just didn't think it'd happen.

However, it seems that things are gathering pace and a deal could happen soon. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with him signing, as long as he curbs his silly challenges that keeps getting him sent off - Rafa won't take any risks with him though, so if Rafa wants him then I'll support the idea.

He's a decent defender though and one that can play right back and centre back, which adds to our defensive options - and we need cover these days with all the injuries we're having!

If we can sign him for less than around 3m then I see it as a good signing, as long as he doesn't bring too much of that nasty streek onto the pitch when he's wearing Red.

I have a good feeling about this guy. If Jamie can't stop the attacker Lucas will take the S.O.B. out. No, but seriously as long as Rafa can get the disciplined thing sorted out, and with krommy leaving, this may work out well.

When i first heard about this deal i had my doubts, mostly because of him breaking Carra's leg which was the only thing i could think of him doing! However i got to thinking that anyone hard enough to break Carra's leg may actually be a good addition to the squad, plus unlike Alves he is well used to the premier league so it would make sense in some way.
