In my opinion we now have the later what we need is some attacking guile to unlock teams with packed defences and a bit of added clinicality to finish off teams we have on the rack (like United at Anfield or Chelsea at the bridge last year).

I think that Rafa deserves the chance to add this to the side he has constructed and that he will if given the backing be able to find players who can add this to our team. I also think that he likes the idea of a long term project and if allowed to do the things he thinks will allow us to challenge for the league in the next two seasons then he will stay for a long time and leave a great legacy.

With Garcia fit, would that leave us needing only one and a half?

Maybe, but I think it's best to round up in such a situation

if we got bent and owen for less than 20 million i would be happy. owen would have to drop his huge wages and bent will not get more than 60 000 a week. think they would be a good addition and also free up money for the wingers we so badly need.

We don't need Owen, Bent, Crouch, Kuyt and The Crow up front.

I think we're just going to get Bent (so to speak)

if we just get one i would not be disappointed if it was bent, i think with better supply and more coaching he could turn into a decent player. he already knows how to find the back of the net. so buy him i agree,

i kinda only want to buy owen to annoy my mate paddy who is a newcastle fan. why???? cos he is a nob, simple as that!

I rate Bent highly. I think he'd score pretty freely for us. The only problem is that, at 18 million, it wouldn't really leave us the masses to spend on wingers. He's over-priced.

One of the ways that Bent is so expensive is that the extra revenue from fans around the world just wouldn't be there, when compared to signing a flashy famous glamour boy. How many people are going to buy an shirt to have Bent on the back? I ****ing wouldn't. If you're going to spend mega bucks on a striker, it has to improve your 'brand'. He wouldn't do that.

Sad but true, in this day and age there's celebrity media bollocks that the top clubs have to be slaves to, to some extent.

your right he is a good player, but if we could get him for 12 million id take him, as for the name on the back of the jersey i wouldnt want it either so will lead to lost revenue compaired to a bigger name signing..

my worst fear is that some fat ugly mank knut will make up a song about him.. then il get thick... then il slap someone... then il get arreasted... again!!
