There was a rumour going around either before they hired Souness or before they hired Roeder.Dont remember which one.Apparently a decent manager(either Allardyce/Bruce or someone at his level) had agreed to come there for an interview. When he walked in he found freddie shepherd and shearer waiting to interview him. The manager walked out without even bothering to get interviewed.

Dunno how much truth there is in this story but since when has that stopped people from posting stuff before.

Shearer's was a truely brilliant player and Bellamy isn't fit to lace his boots.

As a person, shearer seems to be a really decent bloke and I've never heard anyone say anyhting bad about him.
Bellamy on the other hand is a ****** of the highest order.

a mate of mine played for newcastle at the same time. not very complimentary about him at all, met him a few times as my ex ran the restaurant he used to go to a lot.......pro arsehole and if his wife knew what he got upto.....well thats another story

I'm never sure about Shearer. Great player, certainly, but he did stretch the rules a lot, he put himself about a bit on the pitch.

I only know one person who knows Shearer, and he said he's a really decent bloke. The person in question was a trainee at Newcastle for 3 years.

As for title tattle, I don't listen to it and anyway whatever Shearer may or may not be, as far as I'm aware he hasn't been up before the beak for hitting a woman and he hasn't threatened a team mate with a golf club.
