David Silva to sign a new deal with Valencia

I think Simao is the 11m. player (if it´s true) but I actually think Malouda would have been ideal for us and our system. Can defend, works hard, bit of pace, cross and shot, I think fits very well into Rafa´s philosophy and gives the team good balance.

Malouda and Simao are the two most suitable players I can think of but my problem with both is that they don't appear overtly strong and have no PL experience. I'm not saying they wouldn't adapt but I would see both taking time which we might not be able to give them. Simao also lacks the pace I would want ideally. Still I would be very happy to see either or both added to our squad.

Maybe the new deal for Silva is a last throw of the dice by Valencia to show him how much they want to keep him? I'd imagine no player at Valencia will be quick to sign anything until Villa decides his future.

No, he's too injured despite being the best winger in the world when fit.

We should try and sign Sneijder instead. He can play right, left or attacking midfielder.

No, he can't, even though football manager may say that he does and may occasionally play not in the centralised position in a 4-3-3 at Ajax he is a central midfielder and if we tried to put him on the wing in our system it'd be very similar to putting Gerrard on the wing. He is a great attacking player, but please no, not ANOTHER central midfielder!
