Djib was a youngster with huge, raw potential that he hasn't (yet?) fulfilled. You could say 2 shattered legs didn't help.

If there is any hope for Cisse, it is this: Drogba arrived in England at the same time and was equally as useless for two seasons.

I know Djib probably doesn't have it in him but I wish he did.

Agree with everything you say other than the bit is bold.Drogba was anything
but useless. He was fundamental to the way Chelsea played. He was not elegant enough for a 24 million pound striker but he was damn effective.he harassed defenders, brought the Chelsea midfield into play, linked up play very well.He may be a diver but noone could question his work ethic. For all the taunts about Drogba being useless, he was the first name on Mourinho's teamsheet. And if Mourinho had it his way he would have not bought Sheva. This season he has stepped up to an even higher level and added goals(some of them brilliant) to his overall play and thus everybody has started noticing him.

"About Djibril Cisse, the negotiations should be finished early next week," Diouf said in L'Equipe.

"We would prefer a loan but Liverpool want a definitive transfer.

"We are in talks about a transfer fee inferior to €12million (£8m). I have a lot of hope."
Interesting, That is a bit more than I was expecting.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

cisse would not score in rooneys favourite brothel. what a knob, bolton could have him !!
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

He said inferior to £8m so we'd be probably be talking about £6 - 6.5m

Like a lot of guys on here, I've always WANTED Cisse to do well.
When he's scored a nice goal [e.g. against Everton away last season] I've always thought "right, that's it, he's lit the blue touch paper now", but it's never really happened. Just like it never happened with Morientes.

Cisse's had more time than most to make it - his broken leg earned him that, but he never did it consistently enough.

If you're talking about getting Cisse back in, why not go the whole hog and get Baros back too, because they're both very similar - head down, direct for goal, SMASH - either a great goal or a ball balooned over the bar.

We've moved on from that type of football.

                could also be £7.9m
But I think your quote is a tad bit more realistic, still though, good to see we are not setting the price too low.

                  **** off:whatever:

I raised a question, some dismissed it, others could see my point. Too much time on my hands, probably, but just because i may dare to be critical of rafa and his transfer policy it doesn't make me a manc. I know cisse is **** as much as the next man, but the way he plays, IF he was played as a main striker he would probably score between 15-20, in spite of his other faults.

To be honest I have now idea why you feel the need to insult someone. What on earth makes you think that because he has a different opinion to you about a player or is critical of Rafa that he is a Manc?

This is and the WUM accusation have been bandied about far too much of late. Discussion is much more interesting with differing points of view.

I actually think that the discussion would sometimes benefit from having the perspective of supporters of other clubs. Although maybe Mancs wouldn't be the best due to the vicious nature of the rivalry.

Don't be put off by the reaction of some on here.

I think that Cisse would score more from striker than he did was a bit of a myth when he played for us in that position he was offside far too often and when there was less space behind defences he was far from effective as a striker. He was often helped to get goals by playing deeper such as right wing.

I think in the right side he would do a good job. Unfotunately (as we own him) it's not us, our team pattern doesn't suit him and teams play packed defences which he will never be effective against when they play us.

Good luck to Cisse but I really think he is not for us.

No, this is what you said "He would score more than kuyt, crouch, bellamy, torres, villa or tevez would if played as our main striker next season.

so the question is...what is rafa's problem?"

That my fury little friend is a load of old bollocks. Why would we even contemplate using Cisse as our main striker when he is dog ****? He has plenty of oportunitys to show his class but has NEVER delivered. Cant shoot, constantly offside, a moaning toss bag oh, and did i say ****?
15-20 goals a season i dont think so mate. He cant get that many in the ****test league in the world (France) so what makes you think he can even get HALF that in the toughest league in the world?

Suppose you think we should try and re-sign Baros and Meijer as well.

Do you think we should make sacrifices elsewhere in the team to accommodate a player like Cisse? and abandon everything Rafa believes in? while we are at it, if we ask him to do that, we will need a new manager.
