I think he's shallow, has a grossly inflated ego and is out of touch with the real world, all of which could be applied to more than a few top-level footballers no doubt. But no, I don't hate, abhor or loathe him.

I just don't like him, not that it really matters to anyone but me I suppose.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Forget what everyone says about you Reds08, I think you add a little something that we all need at this time of year...

A complete ass to focus all of our attention and misguided abuse towards. If it was ever revealed that you were a WUM created by the mods strictly for the purpose of allowing everyone to have a nice group vent to focus all of our aggressions collectively, I would not be surprised.

Oh, and if that's NOT the case, then what meds are you on?

Fair question - I'm one of those who is beginning to doubt Rafa's ability to win the league for us - I'd go for Carlos Alberto Parreira. But not for a couple of years yet - let's see what Rafa can do when he get's his first choice targets - and I don't mean Perdersen/Defoe/Benayoun.

**** off. You contradict yourself inside of 2 lines. Your ass must be sore from sitting on the fence for so long. Pick a side.

He's been with us 3 years and done wonders with massive injuries and someone else's team while rebuilding at the same time.

I am happy with his results, and am completely confident with his abilities. 19 is not far away.

You're a charming individual. Rafa's ability to win the league is still in doubt.

                      Thanks lad.

If you want to use that logic, Stevie's ability to score this year is in question too as he hasn't done it.

****, in all honesty, we don't even know if Carra can walk thru the tunnel this year without getting claustrophobic because guess what? He hasn't done it this season yet.

Rafa hasn't had anywhere near the injection of cash that C and MU have had either, but my guess is that he'll do some damage this year and inch that much closer.

I wasn't knocking you for saying he won't win the league, I wsa knocking you for saying he won't win the league, then saying you want another manager in, then saying lets give him some time to see if he'll win the league.

It's impossible to get into an intelligent discussion about a topic if you cover all bases on that topic.
                      1. Get rid of him
                      2. Get a new manager
                      3. Wait first though, he might do something.

Well if it's a discussion you want then I'm your man.

The premise is 'can Rafa deliver the EPL?'.

The answer is yes,no or maybe.

If the answer is no then the question is 'who can?'

The answer is imo Carlos Alberto Parreira.

If the answer is maybe then a reason is because he is too negative in a league that requires more points to win than any other top league.

If the answer is yes then the question is when? How long are you willing to give Rafa to prove you right?

Can I say that I would give Rafa another two years? Yes I can.

Its utter nonsense to say Rafa will never win the league, in his second season he was 2 games off winning the league. If we had of beat Chelsea twice instead of getting beat twice number 19 would have been ours. He now has a great spine of a team and with a few quality players added will be able to challenge for the league.

It took Ferguson 5 years to win anything and 6 for the league, in 3 years Rafa has won us the Champs League, FA Cup and got to another Euro Final (Something Ferguson hasnt managed to do it over two decades). Rafa is twice the manager Ferguson is, and Ferguson seems to have done alright in the league. Need to have faith in the tactical master

Ok, now that that's out of the way....

My original point with you was that anyone can answer all sides to a discussion. I was asking (albeit not overly nicely, my bad) for you to pick a side.

So, given that, what choice of the three do you actually support right now?

(careful, that fence might hurt if you pull it out too quickly )

You should answer my question - How long will you give Rafa to win the league before you question your faith him?

And I don't think he'll win it in the next two years. I hope I'm wrong.

As much as you and many others are using the League Title as a measuring stick for Rafa's greatness/demise, there are far too many other things at play for me to follow suit.

We can not and will not EVER be able to compete with Chelsea's money, and SAF has been in control of Manure for so long that he only needs one or two solid signings a year now to maintain. This is the first year (and it's still to be proven) that Rafa has had a transfer kitty to delve into.

I would be willing to give him 4-5 years to challenge for the title, and even then, we know he'll have racked up a bevy of other hardware for us in that time, so it still wouldn't upset me if we couldn't get it.

Cups and league are totally different; as was proven in the CL when over 2 legs we beat Chelsea AGAIN this year to go on to the final. Rafa is king at a 2 legged race, but it's tough to challenge for a title when you're up against the other contributing factors.

For the record, I hope we're both wrong.
