I fully agree with the sentiments as regards to the sun, but IMO we should move on now. Some younger LFC fans wouldn't be able to know instantly what happened at that time.

In reply to Disco. I haven't condoned what this rag printed at all mate. I made a cock up in trying to diffuse the issue as something that was in the past and that we should move forward. I was wrong, but I'll still keep my slightly differing opinions close to my chest as from now.

Yes people can but you need to present it properly. Do you seriously believe that you can just say things in anyway you choose and expect people to just accept that? You obviously dont because you are upset with how people have aired their opinion on you. It works both ways mate and you need to see that. You can hold any opinion on any subject but to for you to not be dismissed or abused you need to present it in a decent way to encourage debate.

Yes I know and i've just told him too. I think we need to put an end to ot because not everybody is going to be totally happy regardless are they? He's come on and admitted what he said could have been worded better and I agree, it could, but he has his opinions which he is entitled to. there is no need now for people to carry on at him.

Well things are now being discussed sensibly, and I'm glad to see Fredo back.

There is IMO still a huge level of hyprocisy surrounding this subject and to me, watching Sky TV and reading The Times is just adding profits to the organisation that funds the *** in the first place. A sacrifice is just that, but very easy to boycott one paper than to boycott everything else that goes with it.

OK maybe boycotting Sky is a bit extreme, but The Times, NOTW and The *** are all published by News International, for me they are all sister papers and their combined profits ensure each others existence. A boycott of all 3 would be far more damaging to The *** without a great deal more effort on everyone's behalf.

there are people debating all sorts of issues in this country - some of which make my blood boil. However, you certainly need to give a reasoned argument in that debate - which is something a lot of people forget as their emotions get the better of them.

On the other hand, an emotive issue is certain to get an emotive response, and you have to try to understand why the emotion gets involved. We're not all robots, we are all emotional beings who react to the things around us.

I've come back and tried to dismissed claims I was acting 'like a drama queen' and come back accepting that I've cocked up yesterday. Isn't that a form of apology ?

The two posters that have made the most sense in this thread, imho, have been KK07 and Red Hot.


Fred has an opinion, and voiced it, maybe he could have done so in a better manner, but he didn't so that is done.

Regardless of how long he has been on forums, he will have a more dispassionate viewpoint of the subject than those closer to home, I don't really see how it could be any other way to be honest. He has always been a good load, on here and on KT and some of what was said to him was bang out of order.

I would hate to see him off the site because of this, and would love to see if some of his critics could speak in the language that Fredo is more comfortable with and not lose anything in translation.

There have been plenty of spats, rows etc on this site, myself being in quite a few, some I regret, others I still don't, but to abuse a guy who is from thousands of miles away, and who could not feel the same way on the subject as people who are from the city and/or had people there that day, who had their names defiled by that rag, is a bit OTT.


Maybe it's a time for people to sit back a biy and let things blow over.
