I think this thread should be left open and bumped up as it is one of the most "educational" threads I've seen about Hillsborough in a long time. It's probably gone a long way to edcuating younger fans and non-scouse fans about the issue.

After spending a long time over the weekend reading this thread and contributing, i can honestly say that I dont Fredo has made much of an effort AT ALL in his "apology". Personally, i really dont give two shovels of ****e if people disagree with me here as Hillsborough personally affected me and my family. Not as great as some other members here but it is still a raw subject in my family.

So let me begin with your first line. You were not "Probably" stupid in what you said you WERE stupid for what you said. Next, the bit were you say you "could" have chosen your words better. How about changing that to 'SHOULD of chosen my words better'. Again, see above. Example:- "Yeah your honour, when i seen little bobby about to run into the road i probably could have saved him if i could have been arsed"

Next; You reckon you didnt deserve the **** you got for having an opinion.
OK. The KKK have an opinion on anyone black or Jewish. The BNP have an opinion on anyone black, jewish, irish or asian. Hitler had an opinion on the Jews and the list goes on and on and on. So going by your reckoning, its ok to flam the KKK, BNP or Hitler cause thats the norm, and **** their opnions. However it is not ok to flame you for your opinion because you a Liverpool supporter who clearly knows how the very subject on here is very emotive and you are VERY likely to have people busting your balls over it.

I used to have a lot of respect for you Fredo and i would have possibly forgiven you if you had made a proper and SINCERE apology and said you would change your opinions on it, but you have not done none of these as far as i can see and why the ****ing hell respected posters on here are all licking your arse and telling you that its ok now and its all settled is beyond me. These are the same posters who slam that fat k*unt who owns "the number 1 fan site" for wearing a *** hat.

We're watching this thread very closely, especially now, as we have a large number of members who visit during the week and in their lunch hour.

We'd like to think that many of the issues have been resolved, and in leaving the thread open are allowing it to still be discussed.

However, given the sensitivity of the subject, we'd expect any further replies to be mature.

So, if anyone comes in here now, jokingly or not and says something along the lines of

"**** you fredo."

etc, don't expect to get away with it.

A good mature forum is what is need with arguments or heated debates, argued and debated maturley and not with '**** you ******' or the like. Especcialy over this, as it is important to younger members who ARE slighlty ignorant to facts through no fault really of their own to know the FULL story of the boycot and why it's boycotted.

Fredo, you were a member on KT when i joined there, you were again a member on here when i joined, surely you've seen and been involved in many debates or discussions on Hillsborough and the S*n boycott over the years, i don't understand how you thought the comments you made would get any response other than the one they got.

I think you even state yourself in this thread that you don't know all the facts about the boycott and Hillsborough etc, maybe you should take the time to read through the HJC website even if you do find it depressing.

I got lost when the original opinion was clouded by people bringing racism and xenophobia into it. My opinion is that the disaster stands on its own as an issue and the media backlash was built on decades of tribal disputes over employment, sporting success and class divides. To simply say that the paper was being 'racist' against Scousers is to miss the point entirely. The cultural history of England is far too complex to simply allocate a rather recently redefined ism as the sole cause of media descrimination.
