Purchasing promising "youth"....

...how many players, say 18 or under, have we purchased in the last 10 years that have matured into quality assets?
I know that signing youth is deemed to be a clever/respectable way of doing things but is it really worth it?

Well i don't think we've ever gone to anything like the extent Rafa has gone to so far for bringing in youth.

Let's say we sign 10 players, all at 250k, thats 2.4 mil now lets say only one makes it, then we've made our money back, and would probably be able to sell the other 9 on for the same price or better.

Even if it was 1 in 20 thats still only a 5mil outlay, i think it's very much worth it, but only when done properly like seems to be happening now

It's always a gamble but all you want is 2or3 to breakthrough and you are laughing.It then gives hope to the next lot of kids that if they have what it takes,then the manager will give them a chance.
