Since GH 1st came to LFC we must have bought 30 or 40 young promising players. How many of these have had an impact, to my mind just the1 and he's probably the most derided LFC player of recent years...

I think the point that some are missing here is the UEFA Local quota that is becoming more of a reality. All these youngsters will qualify as home grown talent as far as UEFA is concerned.

I'm not sure I agree. Our 1990's group was truely outstanding by any standards. For me it even surpassess the Mancs Beckham, Nevilles, butt & Scholes era.
Since then we've been disappointing but if you compare our record with any other club i'd be suprised to find many better.
The whole point about the class of '92 is exactly that - they all came through together - having played with each other since they were about 14 for another 15 years - THAT's what made United so special in the 90s, as much as it pains me to say it.
