In any case, we're discussing things in here, and it's all about opinions and deductions. We'll just have to wait & see until the season starts if we could really be in a position to aim for the title.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - there is probably very little separating ourselves and United in terms of transfer funds. The difference is, they have a near-perfect first XI in terms of NOT having to go out and buy first teamers here, there and everywhere. Hargreaves is one for the first XI perhaps, but not as necessary to their XI as say Torres is to us. Nani and Anderson, whilst highly expensive, are replacements for Giggs and Scholes respectively. They'll be "phased in" this season. Kuscak(sp) is a back up player, and they are in a position, like they were 3 years ago with Rooney, to splash out on a player they don't necessarily need just because he is that special (Tevez).

Us, however? Talk to neutrals, they think we need two first team strikers and two first team wingers, maybe a left-back too. Money-wise, we're just signing different types of players is all.

I don't think we'll spend that much less than United's £50m net to date (I'm excluding Tevez because he's a one-off signing, and liek Rooney will probably come out of future budgets)

Im more confident of us winning the European Cup than winning the league but as long as we do better than the Mancs and Chelsea in everything Im happy.

I'll keep this brief: if we can get a good winger in we can without a shadow of a doubt challenge(properly challenge this time) for the league next season.
We'll have everything in the squad to mount a serious assault on the premiership but it's time for the talking to stop and the action to start.

I think it very much depends on who else we sign. We'll be there.
