A fit Kewell and Aurellio will do the trick on the left, wherease Pennant is not good enough.

Pennant is pretty decent backup but he is not good enough to be first choice. We need someone that offers more. Pennant's crossing can be an asset, but he is limited to that.

Pennant is a good squad player but we need better if we are to challenge

crap - If we are going to win the league we need two quallity wide men, one of the reasons our strikers don't score enough is we don't stretch teams enough

No because Rafa likes to rotate and we will be competing in the league, The Champions league, the FA cup and the Carling Cup - Add to that Rafa may change the formation and on occasion play 5 accross the middle and they will all get plenty of action - In addition if some reports are to be believed Masch may be off.

It's an ideal situation for Rafa and his rotation. 4 top central midfielders all fighting for their place. It's great!

depends what formation he plays. Some players will be better suited for different games. The only one out of that bunch that will play most games is Stevie.

I think we will see more 5 man midfields next season - with better wide men this formation will be more effective. If Rafa does this, expect Gerrard to have the advanced midfield role (with Masher, Alonso and Momo battling it out for the other two spots)

The problem Rafa had last season was that Pennant wasn't good enough for him to play that formation and Stevie ended wide right. He is very good in that position but he only plays there because we don't have anyone who is better/good enough.

I don't really think 'we'll have too many good players then' is a particularly good argument against bringing in better players
