    Paul Anderson to Swansea

Darren Moore from Derby and Paul Anderson from Liverpool have both been named in the Evening Post as Swansea targets after much speculation on the message boards about the Swans interest in the pair.

Speculation has mounted for weeks that Moore - who has won four promotions to the Premiership - was in talks with Swansea and other postings have suggested that he has been at the stadium for talks in the past few days in what would be a massive boost to the Swans defensive capabilities.

Anderson is highly rated at Anfield after joining them for a fee that could rise as high as £1.5 million. Swans boss Roberto Martinez is very friendly with Rafa Benitez - his counterpart at Anfield and one of their FA Youth Cup winning side could be working his way to South Wales on a season long loan.

The club made no comment on the linking of both players with possible transfers but no smoke without fire and all that - especially considering the amount of rumours that have flown regards the pair.

''There are four or five players we need to make final decisions on and we're well down the line with a lot of them." Martinez told the Evening Post

''We have been aiming to get everything finalised by the Sunday before we go to Sweden, and that remains our target.

''It's important to get the squad together as soon as we can so they can gel.''

There are also suggestions one or two players could leave Swansea in the next few days.

"If there is a situation where players feel threatened by the challenge of competing for their place, we will look into that situation.''

Don't see how League One football is going to help his game.

I dont get why we keep him. Every season its usually off on loan. If he was good enough he'd be in the team by now. Sell him and use that money.

it's only a loan move for the season, not like we're giving up on him completely. he's only 18 (19 at the end of the month) so he needs regular football and would be a waste in the reserves.

i'd rather see him go to a championship team given the level of play in that division and also the fact that that's where he played with hull before he joined us in jan 06. seems like league one would be a step down!
when things go wrong, don't walk away.
                that'll only make it harder.

He will be playing against men regularly instead of mostly boys, it will develop the physical end of his game.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                  * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Rafa and Ablett want to see if he can make the step up from reserve team football. He went downhill @ the beginning of last year, so he has to prove his mentality. This is the perfect opportunity.

Even though Championship would have been perfect, I think in League 1 he can get regular football. There is no point in going to a championship club if he is going to get stuck on the bench.

If he does very well in League 1 then maybe he can then spend one more year at loan at a championship club or a lower level premiership club.

At the end of this loan period, Rafa and the coaches will be able to assess if he is gonna make it for sure. I think this new loaning out policy is gonna be the standard for all youngsters, unless the youngster is a michael owen/steven gerrard level.

Agree, as Rafa has pointed out the Reserves league alone is not enough for our up and coming players.

He needs game so its a good idea, if he is to be a prospect we might find out at this level, we will never know from reserve games.

To be honest I think the quality of manager and style of play may be as important for a young player as the level of play. I would probably only give him a six month loan though with the option to renew in January if everyone is happy with the move.
