No guarantee Ronaldo will be as good as last year or will remain injury free infact. So many factors to consider.
I am happy that Rafa will bring in the right wingers,we will then have a squad equal to anyones.
Until someone proves it otherwise,i'm confident about our chances.
Because until now,the doom and gloom merchants are only judging everthing by last season.-----------------------------------------------

hello yoda!Originally posted by kop-al-74 View PostSpoken to Rafa have you?

I remember last year in LFC forums most people were thinking it's a race between Chelski and ourselves and wrote scum off completely..2002/03 before that it was Arsenal only writing everyone else off... then chelski got in roman and bought every superstar in town and everyone thought they were the shoo-in under ranieri
now it was suddenly it's between scum and chelski and people are writing us and Arsenal off completely.. wtf?
Rafa does not think we will win it either at this stage unless we bring in better wingers.. but if he does? then what? We can win it, but we probably won't unless we bring it more reinforcements, but there's no point drooling ourselves silly over scum's buys and writing ourselves off is there?
There seems to be a quiet confidence in the LFC camp which is good to see and hopefully that means they will come up strong at the start.. Last year there was a severe world cup hangover, Carra, SG Xabi all had a hangdog look about them. Let's hope they have had a good rest and is looking forward to the season. Then let's not forget we threw our last five games! Who cares about the scum and skum etc... As long as our lads do their best, we will go far...

I actually tried to make a bet with my UTD friend back in november that they would definately win the league after I noticed how Ronaldo was playing. They refused to take me up on that bet. I needed it because at the start of the season I bet them a free dinner at some post place that Liverpool wuold end up above UTD at the end of the season. Pissed is what I am.Originally posted by fah-q View PostDid anyone believe the Mancs were going to win the league last year?
Dont get snarky mate. We aint signed one yet unless you've spoken to him. Judging by the last 2 seasons and botched jobs on the winger side of things, I'm a little disgruntled. I'm still fairly devastated since the first month UTD signed Ronaldo. Killed me inside to see someone that awesome at that specific team, and knowing it would be very hard to find another player as good as him over the next few years.Originally posted by kop-al-74 View PostSpoken to Rafa have you?

So that means we won't then.
Oh and by the way,we were offered Ronaldo for £4m before he went to utd.By the time we arranged people to go and see him,man u had bought him £12m.At the time, only they could afford to pay that kind of money for a virtual unknown 1 trick pony as he was at first.
Oh i guess you knew he would be the player he is today back then!-----------------------------------------------

Firstly there is NO proof that we were offered him. Try and search for it you'll find nothing. It was just people on forums talking. UTD also had first option on him. Doesnt matter what we could or would of offered, they had first option. We had NO chance of signing him.
In the first half dozen games he played the only people calling him a 1 trick pony were idiots. He could run with the ball faster then most people in the league, probably faster then everyone in the league, and he could get around experienced defenders at his simple age of 18. To look at him then and say he was crap was pretty much the view of an opposition fan. Well, the blinded ones. If you couldnt see his talent from then, well...thats not my problem. It was blindingly obvious. However I never expected him to be as awesome as he was last season. After the world cup I had hoped and prayed Ronaldo would be forced to leave from the backlash. It would of been UTDs worst move ever. Sadly Ferguson did his best and Ronaldo stayed.
1 trick pony.. I still cant get over that stupid label.

Didnt Thommo mention in his autobiography that we had him then Utd offered way over the odds for him and Ged didnt think he was worth it?
I might have dreamt it though.....08-09 Dirk monitor
5 goals (target 15)
3 assists also........

I remember seeing him make his substitute debut against Bolton(?).....He looked feckin fantastic on that day, and I closely followed his moves from there on. There were tonnes of scum fans who (up until last season) kept moaning that 'he had no end product.'........I told them nonsense, that's what a flair player is all about....
Oh how I love to rub their dirty little snouts in that utter ****e. Although, at the end of the day, the joke aint on them.
