I actually liked Razor - we've had worse players than him. When he got fit and slimmed down around 1995 he improved a hell of a lot.

Conversely, when he played a Euro qualifier I think (can't remember the year or team), he'd just come back from injury and had piled the weight on, so much so he was a liability and was continually raped by their no-mark centre forward - so he was embaressingly subbed not long into the game. The memory is a bit clouded but that is how I can recall things.

The best and worst of Razor.

One of the best games ive been to excitement wise. The 5-0 v forest in 88 was the best footballing masterclass there will ever be though.

I'd argue that Souness as a manager set us back 20 years.
That's a huge overstatement - Babb wasn't as bad as people make him out to be....he was a talented footballer who, similar to his mate Collymore, was soft in the head. I'm not saying by any stretch that he had a good career at LFC, but we've had many worse defenders play for us.

Souness brought in some donkeys in his time at Anfield but do they come any bigger than Julian Dicks, Kvarme, Piechnick, Ruddock? This team was a joke and Souness cost us dearly and set us back 5 years.
Thank God we are finally assembling a squad to be proud of because that one in 1993/94 certainly wasn't! By the way we were 3:0 down at one point and clawed it back to 3:3.

I watched this game with 3 other manc fans. You can imagine the mixture of emotions, and the odd "ohhh you bunch of ******s" and "oh FFS's"!

It felt like a victory that night, tbh.

Him and Heskey are probably my most disliked Liverpool players of all time.

My favourite Babb moment was when he crushed his balls against the post at Anfield.

It was one of the games the clown was accused of throwing. I remember Bob Wilson saying that was absolute nonsense. His positioning for all 3 goals was fine, and he could do nothing about any of them.

It was also one of the two times Nigel Clough played well! think the other one was his first game against Sheff Wed.

Bjornebye's cross for the 3rd goal was absolutely spot on. I used to watch that move again. Ruddock plays it wide.. then charges in to the box and nuts Pallister.. superb.
That was the best game I witnessed standing in the kop.

Was suspected but never proven. If you watch the game I cant see how anyone could possibly say anything was intentional. although he could have done better

.... easily faked if you know what your doing I m sorry to say. The last time I watched that game, I seem to recall him diving over shots going goalwards.

I m not saying anything happened for sure, but its cast a long shadow for me - fukin shameful, especially on our great club.

Dunno if I can ever really forgive him.
