    Kuyt & Agger

Fair play to the boys....Agger scored a screamer & looks a great prospect and Kuyt looked VERY handy....I remember people moaning that he was slow, looked pretty nifty to me....plus great distribution and was always popping up in the right place.

Credit must be given to Rafa and the board....they've taken some **** from forum morons, but in reality have come up trumps.....Without paying over the odds (Pennant aside maybe)

& I haven't even mentioneed Bellemy, Aurelio, Pennant or Gonzo....

We are a team full of possibilities now.....

Is he making it very hard for Rafa to drop him when Carra is fit? Maybe Sami is the one for the chop, or maybe in some games, we play with three CBs. Ah........possibilities!!!

If I'm honest I think Sami could be up for the chop, I know a lot of people say he's a slow starter but I don't see how Rafa can drop Agger the way he's ben playing. He maybe can't read the game as well as Sami, or head the ball and break up atacks in the same way. But his distribution looks better, he's got an eye for goal, he can bring the ball out of defense and can actualy pass to a red shirt, and he's got a lot of pace. When Carra comes back I think they'll complement each other a lot with Carra doing the more defnsive duties and sorting out the defending of set pieces.

Don't get me wrong I don't think Sami should be ousted completely, and we may miss his aerial presence when defending high balls, but I think it's time that we started to phase him out gradualy now.

Agree with what you say. I think Rafa will now rotate Hyppia and Agger a lot. This will both Keep Hyppia fesh and give Agger more games. Carragher will be the permanent fixture at CB

Thank you're being harsh on Jermain there.

I was hardly ecstatic about signing him, but having seen him in his early maches i think he has been the most impressive of the new signings, he's added width that we desperately lacked and whips in some great crosses - potential to be an absolutely great signing.

You may be right, but I always think that an established centre back pairing that play together week after week is the last part of a team that should be disturbed. It's probably THE foundation of a successful defence.

Rafa may just have to show how ruthless he really is when Cara's fit!

Agreed. I wasn't thrilled but he has been impressive. Even the old man thought he was rubbish when I told him he was signing and then tonight he couldn't get over how slick he is on the ball.

To be honest I am pleased with all our new signings, and obviously Agger's goal was great but I think we need to see a lot more of Agger , Pennant , Bellamy , Gonzo , Aurelio , and Kuyt before we make any judgements.

One thing with Pennant, why doesn't he try and take on the fullback more??
He is quick and skillful ,so always cutting inside can become predictable

But Kuyt and Agger, thumbs up so far !!!

I thought Kuyt was excellent today and all that his performance lacked was a debut goal, it wasn't for the lack of trying though, the goal will come sooner rather than later.

Aggers goal was superb but I don't think I've ever seen a player be so underwhelmed by his excellent contribution. Did you see his interview? He seems very calm. Once Carra is fully fit I can see Sami being consigned to the bench more often than not.

. Dirk kuyt came on today and did everything but score. If that's his normal game we could have a superstar! Danny agger will replace hyppia b4 end of season and will be our centre half for next 10 years, absolute quality. The futures bright, the futures red!

Exactly, Diggler was immense today. I wasn't expecting much so early but **** ME! If we get 75% of that effort every game I'll be VERY VERY happy, but as you say it depends if thats his normal game. If he plays like that for the next six months, creates goals for others yet doesn't score, so be it! Looks sharp eager and greedy yet unselfish in equal measure.

                        Well done DD.

I thought that Dick Cut played ace today. the only thing was he shouldve been selfish a couple of times and instead of trying to set people up, had a crack on goal.

No, no my friend, you missed my point...I think that Pennant is great and we need a player like him in the team. He has also performed well since he came to us....I was merely suggesting that we might have paid a little over the odds for him. If what I have read is right, his fee could rise to over £8m, & I think that is quite alot to pay for him.

I do however, hope that he BECOMES an £8m player

please don't think i'm moaning about it though...as i mentioned in my post, I think the board should be congratulated
