    The Kuyt Appreciation Thread

Okay I know we've only seen about 25 mins of this guy in a red shirt, but I get the impression that he's going to be imense. From the minute he stepped on the pitch and took that shot on goal after about 30 seconds, I was starting to be impressed. Was wondering if that would have been the fastest premiership debut goal but anyway.

He then proceded to run around the top third of the field like Momo switched from left to right all the time and down the middle, he got on the end of almost nearly every pass that went into the opposing half of the field, and set up about 4 moves that I can recall, and could have bagged at least a brace.

It looked to me like he scared the fcuk out of the Hammers defense every time he picked up the ball, and they backed off him a lot. All this crap about him not having any pace, don't know were that comes from cos I saw him sprinting up the field at about the same pace you would expect from Gerrard.

I like the look of this guy a lot and I think he's got the makings of a legend (yes I can determine this after 25 mins of play). Even the way he started to boss the front line when he came on impressed me, and he was obviously working very hard for the team. I think him and Bellamy up front is going to be lethal, and would probably scare the crap out of any defense in the prem.

So there ya go Dirky lad

Worked his socks off and looked hungry for a goal. Looks like a real grafter, which i like to see in players.

Well said mate. Very early days yet, but it's a great start for him. He'll be a fan favourite for his workrate alone.

It's great to see an old fashioned striker who looks to get a shot away as often as possible. He's powerful too.

Welcome to the greatest club on earth, Dirk.

            Then again....
' He has football in his blood ' said a scout who was trying sell a player to Liverpool. ' You may be right ' Shanks said, ' but it hasn't reached his legs yet '

Another reason for him to get hero status.

I can't wait to see him start. He was in and all over everything. Maybe passed on 1 or 2 occasions when I'd have thought a out and out striker would shoot, but I was smiling everytime he got near the ball.

I reckon him, Bellamy & SG will work hard & well together and run defences ragged in the not too distant future, and with wingers, boy will that keep the opposition on the back foot, aka Bowyer today - everytime you saw him was only near his own pen box rather than ours

Just like Bellamy - contrast those two with Cisse and Morientes and things are looking good.

Been saying since last summer that he will be an asset to LFC if we sign him and today he should why. He'll get better as the season progressess.

Impressive debute. Looks like a class player. I have a very good feeling about this guy. I also think our attacking play looks very exciting. The future is bright, the future is red!
