And I prefer that you do it on this thread.

      Thank you.
Mr. Young is otherwise engaged. As his second, I accept your challenge on his behalf. We will meet you and your second at dawn tomorrow where the pair of you shall fight until one of you is dead and satisfaction is met.

As you issued the challenge, Mr. Young has the choice of weapon. He selects double-handed Economics textbook and wishes you good luck.

          Nope!

The final decision rests on the reader (if there are any )

Your responsibility would be to provide direction and set the tone for a healthy debate like any moderator would do!

What do people have to do to be deemed acceptable? For Heavens sake we are a football club, not a snotty university.

If people want to come and visit us for a day out - great! If they don't know much about the club when they come, what better way is there to learn than by attending the club, shop etc, seeing us play, listening to the crowd, visiting the museum etc. Perhaps we should set people some sort of exam before they visit, with only those who know a lot being allowed!

We should be a club where everyone is welcome, regardless of where they come from, or how much they know about us.
my point is that people who come for a day out in the same way as they would go for a day out at alton towers etc etc are taking tickets from genuine fans, fans who can come from any walk of life, anywhere in the world as far as I am concerned, but people with a genuine feeling as to why they are coming here. That is not indicative of a snotty university attitude, it is the feeling of a genuine fan who struggles to get tickets without paying way over the top for one. I will never step back from this argument. I have spent fortunes, in finance and time supporting this team for over 35 years and it pisses me off when I cannot get a ticket for bog standard games. I will use one example. Five years, three days after the Arsenal cup final I got talking to a girl. The subject somehow came to football and then Liverpool. SHe asked me if I had gone to the game on Saturday and I said no I couldn't get/didn't qualify for a ticket. She replied that she had gone but she didn't really like football but it was something different to do and she had a great laugh. Great thats why we are short of tickets (and not because a couple of Asians with cameras I hasten to add), because some people fancied something different to do.

i think the fa cup final is a different kettle of fish altogether than games at anfield but can see both sides of the arguement. I am lucky to have a season ticket so it`s not a problem but if i didn`t i would probably take the same attitude about day trippers and the like as no matter what anyone says you do get a lot at anfield, for the last couple of seasons i had 2 girls and a bloke next to me who were plainly not arsed about the game and waffled on about work and **** like that and would leave 5 mins before half time come back after the game had restarted you could tell goin the match was a kudos thing anyway thankfully yesterday they weren`t there
Oh I say his vision there was lovely

and I second that! I am glad somebody got the gist of my post. Maybe I was too vague first time but you are talking exactly what I am on about.

I see the same thing myself working outside before the game. You do think that tickets are wasted on some people.

And there is no better place to start than read some books written by Dr Milton Friedman - father of modern economics, leading advocate of free markets and a Nobel Prize winning professor at my school University of Chicago! Why not start with a famous television program called "Free to Choose". There Dr Milton Friedman will try to explain (without the complex math) some very basic ideas of economics - should be very easy for everyone to understand!
Sounds very tempting but don't think I'll bother mate as I fear I may drift into a permanent boredom induced coma. As for the chants, I agree - it's a sh1t chant and it needs to stop.

Liverpool football club is indeed a global brand and, as a scouser, I'm proud that people visit our city and club as a result of LFC. Too many people are there as tourists however to 'see the sights' - that I AM against. Football should be for football fans regardless of there colour or creed but those clueless fecks who jump on the Ford bandwagon should frankly stay at home. Let's keep Anfield a passionate hub of football fever and not turn matchdays into a tourist attraction
