Steve Hunter in Grenchen 17 July 2007
Rafael Benitez admitted he was pleased with the performance of his team as the Reds beat Werder Bremen 3-2 in Grenchen, and praised the sharpness of debutants Fernando Torres, Yossi Benayoun and Ryan Babel.
All three of Rafa's latest signings made their debuts in the second half after two goals from Andriy Voronin and a stunning free-kick from John Arne Riise gave Liverpool a deserved win over the Bundesliga outfit.
"I was pleased to see us score three goals and it was nice for Torres, Benayoun and Babel to play their first games for us," enthused Benitez.
"They have only just started training with us but they looked **** hot. You can see the different options we have now in attack and it's good for the team.
"It was good for the supporters to see us attacking and playing some good football. It was not so good for me as manager to see us conceding goals but there were many positives for me to take from the game.
"We needed to work hard and step up our fitness levels and that's why we changed a lot of players during the game."
"Even men with steel hearts love to see a dog on the pitch". It generates a warmth around the ground that augurs well for mankind and that's what life's about. Trouble is these days you never see a dog on the pitch".

Shaggy sometimes makes up his own reports or edits an existing article in some way. Fair bollix they're funny too.

Peter Thompson didn't figure to much in the 70's and Cally was played mostly as a center mid in that period.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View PostI did mention Cally in my post but never seen PT play so did not include his name. I'm only 38 ya know

the crow surprised me, hope he can carry it through into the season proper. Yossi is an impact/playmaker at best wasted on the right.
Alves is the answer to our overlapping full back or right wing problem. We should save the 6 million we'll waste on heinze and put it towards Alves.
Still time though...
I can remember someone saying on another forum when we signed voronin all the months ago that his off the ball movement is world class, pretty sure it was from someone who had seen him play quite often. So maybe this will help unlock defences that sit back. As last year our strikers were pretty stale when we came up against said defences. THE CROW

Same here mate! Never been so frustrated during a Liverpool match and I didn't even get to see a second of it!

You should try watching the stream on the VLC player once the channel has stopped buffereing.
I did this yesterday and even though the SOP cast player was showing knob all the VLC player retained a good stream- it did drop out 3 times for 1 second or so but generally good.
to do this
Download VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Open the VLC player
goto:
File -> Open File -> Open
Paste this link into the open field http://localhost:8902/tv.asf
Click Okay, Minimize but do not Close SOP cast -> Watch Liverpool win again....
